I thought this was sort of well-known movie, given its success in China, but I guess not XD

I really wanted to like the movie since I heard good things about it, but it was really underwhelming. Too much time was spent on Nezha being arrogant and rebellious, and not enough on character growth. I understand where he's coming from, since from birth, people have been afraid of him, and he wasn't allowed to go outside (even if he did). He's also really just a 3 year old, so I'm not complaining about that. Although it's still weird how they age so quickly. With the movie's runtime, I think more could've been done to with Nezha's character and interactions with Ao Bing. I watched this with a friend, and we were almost screaming for them to talk instead of dragging out a pointless fight. The moral of the story was about going against fate, but my friend and I thought they really pushed the "humans are evil/mean" theme more throughout the movie, lol.

There's probably more specific things I can mention about why I didn't enjoy this movie that much, but with how underwhelmed I was with it, I don't really think it's worth putting the effort to write them down :')

I did laugh at some scenes though, especially the 公公 (Gong Gong) joke, which wasn't translated at all, and really couldn't be without something like a translator's note. But uh, there were also some gross jokes that just wasn't my thing, although others and especially children may really like them.

There's going to be sequel film that seems to not involve Nezha or Ao Bing though, it's about another mythological figure. That ones seems more interesting.

How come more people aren’t talking about this, is it not popular on MAL? Anyways I loved the dynamic between Narut- oh sorry Ne Zha and Ao Bing. But in all seriousness it was a very well done movie. I can’t help but see parallels to Naruto when Ne Zha said he didn’t stab Ao Bing because “he was his friend”. It was a good movie with great animation, that was interesting, and it managed to make me emotional in less than two hours. In my opinion not many anime can pull this off as well as Ne Zha did. I was very happy with the ending as well because I loved both Ne Zha and Ao Bing. Naruto and Sasuke XD Anyways I love this movie, and I want to check out that book it’s based on, a traditional story I think?!

This was so good!! I saw it randomly on my feed on my Netflix and I thought I'd watch it before sleeping just to waste time, but instead of it being an average movie it was so much more! I loved the characters and the story I want a sequel! The art and animation was so good I couldn't keep my eyes away from the screen.
I want to sleep...

Very much enjoyed it and with what’s going on in my country we could use more people who can change and change there fate like nezha. I gave it a 8/10 bc there were a few parts I skipped bc if the dialogue once and the fight in the mountains and rivers painting.

Fluid animation, great characters, amazing voice acting, and attention to detail make Nezha a highly enjoyable movie despite its ordinary story setting. Particularly, the voice actress for Nezha's mum was on point throughout the movie. Now I'm sure I'm not the only one who is excited after seeing the post-credit scenes hinting at a sequel.

tbh didn't expect to see this listed on MAL. By Chinese animation I guess they really do mean any and all, that's amazing.

My friends and I adored this film! Ne Zha is such a little gremlin, would have loved seeing more interactions with him and Ao Bing. More than the story itself, their shape design translated into 3D is the first thing that comes to mind, along with Ne Zha's character trait of him stuffing his hands inside his pants lol. Ao Bing's beauty, whew, so glad they went with this design and not him as a villain. I also liked that both parents had a prominent role in the film, I think something like that is rarely seen. Especially with the mom, her loving yet spitfire nature was both refreshing and hilarious.

It's a small thing, but I guess the fight scenes toward the end seemed a little dragged out by the comedy for me. Maybe by trying to regain the lightheartedness, the immersion broke. There's still plenty of rewatch value which I hope to do soon, but instead of friends, have family watch with me next time.

I heard about this! Aw man. I was definitely screaming for more at the end, but I hope we get a cameo at least.

Speaking of, if anyone in this thread is interested, Ne Zha makes a small appearance in Luo Xiao Hei Zhan Ji, sort of like an easter egg. Satisfies my craving for more content in the meantime ;;

Wow, I think this has got to be the most Disney-esq anime film I've seen. The whole thing felt like something straight out of Disney-Pixar. But damn, watching this felt like I was watching this as a kid, really enjoyed this one.

Visuals were absolutely stunning, and the fight choreography was amazing. Plot was pretty simple to follow but it was still done nicely. Comedy in this film was pretty funny ngl, it's weird how sometimes it's the kids films that end up being the funniest :P

Liked all the characters for the most part, Nezha was kinda annoying at times but makes sense given his character. Kinda wished we saw more of his older looking form but oh well.

Overall a 9/10, really enjoyable to watch this film was.

So, to short it off, for the sake of its fantastic animation, and the strong comedy aspect its had (Since its just my favourite genre, and the movie already show me how capable it was to give me a good laugh), i strongly score this movie a solid 10/10.

Thats it for me.

i loved this. it's all about the emotions and relationships. damn. that was some good, HEAVY stuff

i want a sequel or two

this is a like an 8.5/10, but i'll round down to an 8/10 (a very strong 8/10 imo). i want to give it a 9/10 (which is the highest rating i give out), but i don't understand one thing: how would the dragon boy destroying that city have allowed him to become a god? he was supposed to save the city in order to become a god. so wouldn't killing them all have the opposite effect? i wonder why the curse couldn't be broken, or why the great sage (whatever the person was called) wouldn't remove it

i would like to know more about why the dragons were tricked and imprisoned. this isn't a knock on the movie. it's more so me expressing my interest in wanting to know even more about this story/world
