| It is risky to accumulate tragedy in the first episode with so little context about his world. This first episode, curiously, manages to share empathy with its protagonist. Good soundtrack and animation. I hope it gets a better adaptation than A Silent Voice being an anime and not a movie. |

| Wow, what a premiere. It felt like I was watching a short film. Fantastic. Very interesting story, has a ton of potential to be something truly unique and special depending on how this premise is handled. The entire story with the boy is so heart wrenching cause you know what's going to happen, the finale was very emotional. I wonder if through this story, it will be able to understand what the human heart is. Mega props to the soundtrack as well. |

| Damn, way better than I expected, I thought I may be a little bit boring since I kept seeing it getting labeled as "from the creator of a silent voice" which I just thought was meant to hype it up more but it really was a good first episode 5/5 episode |
| made mistake with Fumetsu no Anata e when i watched it's trailer 5 times. it didn't hit me enough also Wolfs rain (2003) looks the same. it should look like Mushishi s2 at least. |

| What is hell is this crap? How come I am crying from episode one without any backstory? Absolutely beautiful episode, has to be the best beginning of an anime I have ever seen, and it has 20 episodes! If all other episodes are like this one I will die of depression by episode 10. This is away above and beyond I have seen so far in this season, 10/10 episode without doubt. |

| was looking forward to this since it looked kinda strange but interesting this would've work already as a short film the music really helped carried what was a very obvious outcome but it did make me feel sad and pity this poor boy even worse knowing it was never his actually buddy he spent his last moments with. i have high hopes for this one...what the hell mondays are so busy |

| i pretty much agree with everyone in this discussion. super strong directing, art and animation. the ost was super good. this anime definitely has potential! also the ed was a banger |

| To me, this first episode didn't feel as impactful as everybody said it would be. But the animation is good and the story seems very interesting. Great music as well. |

| I woke up in the morning, started to watch episode 1. Environment was a little warm, but I was feeling much more warmer. I couldn't stop crying. Or crying couldn't stop me to feel. This is the best episode that I have ever seen. Only Natsume Yuujinchou San Ep 04 can tingle me with this much emotions. You love anime? You don't love anime? Doesn't matter. | Well, this was surely a really good start for the series, music was fantastic, in my opinion one of the key factors when delivering all those strong emotions. I wonder if this will be more of an episodical series though? |
| Ok, what the hell? It's only the first episode and it almost made me cry! The fact that it made me so attached to that boy to the point of getting emotional over his passing, in ~20 minutes it's impressive. The premise is really interesting, it hooked me instantly. The OST was beautiful as well. If it continues being this good this will be a strong AOTY contestant. |

| Wow, I hope this keeps up like this. I saw Brain's Base and was like, I should definitely give this a try. I went in pretty blind and loved it. I assume he'll (it?) will travel and see many, many things. Hoping this is in the same vein as Mushishi and Kino no Tabi. Love the feels and will probably watch this episode again soon. |

| Absolutely phenomenal first episode. Probably the best premiere for the Spring 2021 season. Loved the music, voice acting, animation, premise, and the atmosphere. The drama didn't feel forced or whatsoever. It was just perfect. Props to Brain Base for this very promising start. If there's no drop in quality or writing in the rest of the season, I think we have a locked AOTS. |

| It's the first anime that made me cry from the start till the end. My whole face was wet with salt water....and they even had to end it with the ED by Utada Hikaru that just made it more emotional. Just the beginning that it was actually not Joaan was enough to make my eyes teary. I'm sure most of the animal lovers were like this γ_γ while watching this. It was obvious that they wouldn't live long in this kinda weather. But Fushi's personality and that voice, it's so precious. |
