Yuuma is such a speedy fighter. No wonder he can move around like that on the battlefield without a sweat.

Hyuse is also worth to keep an eye on and is no pushover. Honestly, this finale looks like it just sets up for more events for the third season. Between the scores, strategies, etc, it felt like many of the other episodes.

This season was alright for me. 6/10.

Now both them are attacking friend guy who are in wire area. Ishida-san's character lost to the gun girl's shot.

Main guy not completely out, he is instructing from the control room. He instructed them to try to survive and win against both of the teams.

The commentator saying leader is trying his best but not strong enough and needs one more member...

That another foreign guy is amazing other trainees in Rank C level up. Even rank B heard about someone ranking in few hours. May people tried to defeat him via simulation battle but failed, and the leader of senpai team was also called. NamiDai's character, as expected for strongest, won against him.

Now the team is complete w. the 4th person.

That cute corner returning w. the main three saying "Please look forward to 3rd season".

Edit: It seem like they will animate Tamakoma team part from manga that omitted at the end of finale at the beginning of 3rd season.

And so the season ends about where we expected it to, with Hyuse joining Osamu's team.

The first half was a pretty nice conclusion to the battle. Oji (black team captain) really didn't stand a chance since he was up against two aces with sniper backups. The only way he could have won was to wait for them to battle each other and then face the victor one on one, but even then, he probably would have lost.

The outcome of this battle was very believable. The red team had the upper hand and it made sense for them to be the last ones standing. Too bad that alone doesn't win you the game. It was very close though as I thought it would be. Osamu's team won 4-3-3. They will need more absolute wins than that if they want to make it to the top of B-Rank. Good thing they have Hyuse now, though I still do want them to lose with him the first time so it doesn't come off as cheap, but that probably won't happen.

The second half of the episode was pretty funny but also VERY rushed. I wonder if the delay of episode made them have to combine two episodes together into this final episode. Hyuse blitzes the initial exam, stomps the top C-Rank guys, and then proceeds to duke it out with top B-Rankers and A-Rankers. While we do get to see how strong he is, the entire progression was too quickly skimmed through. I wonder if it was stretched out before the earthquake happened and then they just skimmed it so it would fit in the last remaining episode. Maybe somebody could shed some light on that if anybody knows anything (I see from the above post that some parts were omitted to be shown next season, but maybe they also skimmed the Hyuse parts faster than originally planned).

All in all, it was a pretty good season and season 3 is on the way. Super excited to see Osamu's team continue rising in the ranks and go on the expeditionary mission.

Although Hyuse's enlistment was fast in the manga, they did skip some content to finish the season right when the team formed.

That said, I'm very exited for the next season, the last two rounds of the B rank wars are still discussed among WT to this day due to their quality, so def waiting for it.

Tbf the last two rounds are also still relatively recent in terms of WT chapter releases. Granted 8 is my favorite, but I think 3-8 are all great in their own way.

This episode was really fun to watch. Not only that we get to see Osamu doing some good strategy for round six of B-Rank wars is good enough. Osamu is not strong and skilled, but he is very intellectual and strategic good support which is good enough to make up for such weakness. Which is why Tamakoma barely won the round, but a win is a win. Hyuse having rise to B-Rank very fast shows that he is no joke in terms of an attacker. Though many others decided to test him out. Hyuse won his no point matches against, Koarai, Tomoe, Miura, Sasamori, and Tsuji using only Kogetsu. Though Ikoma is skillfully par with Hyuse only to be disqualified when doing an illegal move. Then Tachikawa comes in nails or defeats the guy no tomorrow 4-1. Funny stuff honestly but Hyuse joining the squad will turn things around for our characters. That aside. I really did enjoy this season. Like the art and animation seems much better than season 1. Not a lot of episodes. Though we get to see other border agents in action at the very beginning, and B-Rank wars. This season get at least a 7/10 for me. It is not great or special though it is entertaining and nice to see some different action. I cannot wait for season 3. So excited.

That's how it was in the manga too, the anime didn't rush anything there.

This episode doesn't adapt the entirety of chapter 160, but the rest of that will probably be in S3.

Pretty good finale, this. Certainly looking forward to S3 to build up on this platform.

I knew there was going to be some trouble after Osamu's leave but jeez, what a comeback that was in the end there! Didn't see that coming at all. #6 attacker turned out to be stronger than expected even then though, I suppose.

Yuma taking out the ikemen was pretty cool, too.

Hyuse just cruising along with that nonchalant expression, meanwhile lol. Not good enough for Tachikawa-san though, huh? I was expecting 5-3 or something. Anyway, that was fun to watch, hopefully we'll see more of such hype-worthy matchups in future episodes.

Hyuse in the Border outfit doesn't look bad, I'm looking forward to that "extra firepower that the team happens to be lacking". Boy, this team can go places.

All in all, this has been a pretty good season! Toei Animation has certainly upped the animation and that's been a pleasure. Plot-wise, things are heading into an intriguing direction as well so I'm definitely up to wherever this train is heading to!

Strong 7/10.

And so Hyuse joins Tamakoma-2 as we end the second season. Look, giving summaries for a long runner like World Trigger feels a bit pointless. Especially since I absolutely adore the series, both in anime and manga forms. I own the first 21 manga volumes and counting, and plan on buying the Sentai release of the first season of the anime when it releases here a week after my birthday! I'll just say that the material was adapted very well this season. It lacked the animation troubles and pacing troubles season 1 had, although for me personally even those weren't that big of a bother. Honestly I'm kinda tempted to go back and bump up my season 1 score to match the solid 8/10 I'm giving this season, but I'll wait for a rewatch to decide that for sure. In either event, I look forward to season 3, and hope Ashihara-sensei's health gets better and better so that he can keep telling his wonderful story.

Tamakoma managed to just barely squeeze out a victory in that last match, congrats to them. Hyuse quickly makes a name for himself here at Border, easily shooting up to B-rank and handily defeating just about everyone who challenged him, except Tachikawa (and Ikoma technically, but he screwed up his W by using his Whirlwind move lol). Tamakoma was already a decently formidable team, getting Ws even with Kuga being the only strong fighter, so with Hyuse joining them, they definitely just got a big power boost. Looking forward to seeing what they'll do next season.

Overall I'm really glad Toei went seasonal with this one. This season just proves how much better it is to go seasonal rather than having a long-runner. The quality was so much better and the show was more consistently enjoyable compared to S1. Hopefully Black Clover takes notes and does the same thing once it eventually comes back.

A very good season and upgrade in pretty much every way when it comes to technical aspects. Mikumo and Chika got to show off their new abilties and the team as a whole is now able to deploy some really interesting strategies in battle. Because of it watching this season's matches was very fun. Looking forward to more especially now that Hyuse has joined the squad.

This whole season of World Trigger was very enjoyable for me. The boost in animation quality, as well as the lack of fillers and terrible pacing contributed a lot to this, other than the rest of the aspects staying about the same, of course. I've been looking forward to every new episode and am looking forward to when World Trigger comes back again.

Tamakoma-2 won the match and they are another step closer to their goal. Hyuse also managed to get into B rank fast. All four of the Tamakoma-2 members together looked cool.

Overall a good season, the only thing I didn't like was the slow progression of the story. Aside that everything else was really good. Looking forward to season 3.

really great final episode, quite a nice conclusion to the battle, guess you can't completely win them all. cool scenes with hyuse there too, was really excited watching the whole time. overall really enjoyed this season, while a little short being only one cour, i think it was still very good and the better production quality was a nice addition as well. i'd give the season a 7/10, cant wait for season 3, gonna be so hype with hyuse joining them in the battles.

Man this season was absolutely banger. Intense and exciting throughout its run. S1 was slow paced and dragged on too much, this season eliminated that problem since we had limited number of episodes to go with.

It's such a fun to see Yuma in action.
I hope Chika overcomes her fear. That way she'll give a huge power boost to the team.
Osamu is trying his best with his head, but it really hurts to see him being weak and helpless against the opponents. I hope he gets a significant power boost in future.

This anime was underappreciated gem of the season. Enjoyed it extremely. 9/10 for me.

Obviously not a finale episode, but so sad that it ended like this until season 3.

More upset to not showcase more of Hyuse's abilities with a regular trigger. Oh well, overall, an improvement of a season from season 1, loved the op/ed more than any of the first season, too. 8/10

It's just the bot problem that MAL is having right now, there are a ton of bot accounts voting 1/5 on episodes and upvoting reviews. This happened to other anime too, but it's especially noticeable with WT since it's unpopular.

I don't see him getting a "significant power boost" unless something extreme happens like Yuma dying and turning himself into a black trigger for him. If anything the power progression in WT seem to be a lot more horizontal than vertical which I consider to be a good thing as it avoids needless power creep and keeps threats / side characters relevant.

If anything the only kind to "boost" I can see Osamu getting is him expanding his arsenal e.g. by combining his wires with meteor to set up these traps Kizaki was using:

I don't think Osamu needs any kind of power boost; seriously, he's just not a Yuma or Tachikawa, or Konami-type fighter. He's a strategist and that's where he excels. It makes his character more realistic; he will never be the ace fighter, but he's the ace mastermind.

Personally i didn't like the horn guy joining the team seems all to easy.
I would rather they stay the course and steadilly gain experience and get better and if they wanted to add a fourth member just get someone from border.

with the horn guy joining might as well give main character a opp powerboost...

This weaker main character who slowlly gets stronger i really like seeing the growth of the chracter slowlly getting better very believeable and doesnt turn side characters into basicly useless like surtent other shounen out there...

Highlights :
HYUSE got to know his trigger level ; of course he is more powerful with his black trigger.
KUGA, my favorite character since the beginning of the series. He is quiet, cute, funny, skilled.
OSAMU & CHIKA are still leveling up, so they are not among the "interesting" characters yet, for me. Let's just wait.

its been so long since i read the chapters so I forgot how hype this fight's conclusion was, this was pretty much a perfect adaptation and I wish the entire series got this treatment. Better late than never but its just really sad to see what will probably be the final 24 episodes (if next season is this quality) the series may ever get are the only ones that really did the manga justice.

Alright they saved their rank. Just a couple more rounds (chances) to go. Really like how these fights are so well thought out. Would've been hilarious if Chika started shooting the Ibis and taking out Ikoma.

All eyes are on Hyuse. Guys want to take him on because he seems flashy. Girls want to get close to him. Hyuse's rising up the ranks in just a day. Those three got wiped out again. Thought they would've learned their lesson after being swept by Kuga.

Good to see him learning more about how things work in Border. He'll probably use it to his advantage later on if or when he has to fight strong enemies. It does bring some problems though.

Looking forward to watching season 3 next ( /^ω^)/♪♪

Just watched seasons 1 and now 2. I love the strategy elements to this series! The way they strategise about battles and explain it all is just really up my street.

Aside from tamakoma-2, I think Jin is my favourite character. Though I'm always worried that given his amazing side-effect of precognition / seeing the future that he'll end up being killed off (esp. with the 2nd invasion of neighbours feeling like their movements were being read a little too well) - that would suck. Jin makes this series *soooo* much more interesting....

Edit: I also agree the animation is better in season 2 here - but I think prefer the green from season 1 for the way trion is depicted - especially in fights.
