,basically its not canon because its not a direct sequel to R2,its a sequel to the recap movies, which had some changes in the story like shirley not dying for example, though its the closest we will ever get to an R2 sequel, and i personally appreciate that since R2 IMO shouldn't have a sequel, but i also wanted one,so this alternate canon was a good idea,as fot if lelouch is gonna be in the next sequel, that is unknown

No it isn't and it should not even be one as the anime ended with Code Geass R2 that's it. Like the above user said the movie triology made some changes in the original anime so just treat it like an "alternative version" of the anime where Lelouch comes back to life. Though personally I liked the anime ending more without any useless sequels to follow and the concluded everything nicely so this movie felt like a cash grab also it had even more problems than the anime and even more dumber. Also animation wise it felt like I am watching the 2006 CG so forget about improvements it's even worse than the anime even though the movie was made in 2019.

To the original two anime of Code Geass? No, this is NOT canon. An alternate universe was created by the movies which basically changes Shirley's death and a few other, minor things.

This movie is Canon to the Alternate Universe. So this actually happened and is canon in the alternate universe created by the movies. :)

The movies and the 2 season's of the anime are both cannon, because they exist in different timelines.

I would never complain about more Code Geass. What’s the point? Not gonna ruin my view of the original. I am satisfied with the original, but still would like to see my favorite characters in action more. So really, I don’t see how more Code Geass hurts. Especially being in an alternative universe. They made the effort of giving more content without making it direct to the original.

Afaik none of the movies are canon because they go off of events of the recap movies instead of the show
