| Overall sad episode I must say, the start was a bit surprising with the snow and I found it interesting that that wasn't included in the 2005 remake (perhaps in the second season?) But well this does seem to be before the end of that remake. All in all a good episode and well let's see what the last episode will offer us. |

Anyway, I wish I can have a localized snow in my area as well. haha Not really better than the 2005 version, which fairly faithfully adapted the manga up to The Angel Eater Arc. This OVA is actually an truncated version of the story which was released back when there was only a handful of Manga chapters, with an ending that was made up by the anime writers back in 1994-95 when it was released. The 2 season TV series followed by the ‘Fighting Wings’ OVA is a much more accurate depiction of Belldandy & Keiichi’s life together, and if you watch the movie it provides a fairly satisfying coda to the series with it’s ‘Judgement Gate’ plot mechanic. The Manga author Kosuke Fujishima actually adapted the ‘Judgement Gate’ plot device from the film as part of his finale ‘Wedding Arc’ in the last volume of the long running manga, because he liked the idea from the film so much. |
