"You are a man who won't hold back on your oppont even if they're five years old".

That's the Arata I know, go for it.
I like to post in manga forum when I feel it is worth it, so people will think. "Shit, is her again" or something.

People asked me where I read certain thing but the rules say no telling where did you read so maybe I am too boring for not saying? Or salty because you didn't check my profile that says don't ask because I hate people to ghost me after that. I love learning languages so maybe I did not read the manga in English.

That was amazing.
Finally Taichi is here (I'm team Arata).
The way it ended Arata's going to fight back but I think he will lose, then Taichi will help him. I'm also worried what Chihaya is going to think about Taichi coming, she probably will win this game but I'm not really sure about the next one, Taichi's arrival It's probably going to affect her. PROBABLY.

It seems like the next chapter will be amazing.

This was such a powerful chapter with so many strong emotions. I had kinda mini goosebumps throughout
Suo again and again showing his new sides to us. When he smiled while taking the card from sudo saying "thanks", i felt that. Not only is he showing new possibilities of playing karuta but also converting his weaknesses into his strength, by using the narrow card placement with such tactfulness and making arata have a hard time. From the reading, the sounds, the smart plays, Suo clearly showing why he is the eternal meijin material. He is adamant on leaving the karuta world from the strongest point with his attachment to the meijin title & giving that relief to his aunt that he is okay and even though i am rooting for arata, a part of me does want suo to achieve that.

Chihaya and shinobu are having a intense game of their own. Shinobu is back on track with visualizing and connecting with her "friends" again, Chihaya is different from what she was in her first two matches with a more positive vibe. That stretching and heavy breathing was hilarious, the crowd was going bonkers over her xD . Also that gesture to Arata with tasuki with that sweet smile was so wholesome and adorable & then arata trying to imitate the breathing was just a bonus scene.

Speaking of bonus, the transition to taichi arriving was so on time. Finally, he is here and especially when arata needs it the most. Love the fact he understands arata so well after playing with him and wants him to just let loose, like the merciless demon he is. Its realistic as it gets and the who else can be better to give that reality check other than taichi himself. Even with barrier in the past between them the connection between these boys is really a sight to watch.

Finally coming to my boy arata. I feel so many different emotions for him. He wants to play & win with his grandpas style so that his grandpa will be remembered, but that desire is so bad he is losing himself and his personal karuta style. On top of that the expectations, the eyes on him. I just was imagining myself when he turned and saw all the crowd glaring at him, the comments on the live stream and him saying "Chihaya.. i am scared" in his child form, i felt that so hard. Just goes to show, he is far from perfect. Also i feel he still has some guilt for crushing taichi's dream and he is still questioning his own purpose to reach this stage. Even suo wants to play the same person who was playing against taichi in the qualifier. But seeing the last few pages and taichi's projected thoughts, its clear Arata will have to be his real self and has to play for himself & his own purpose, be ruthless regardless whoever is infront of him because that's the reality when you play on the tatami. If he doesn't give it his all, he isn't supposed to be here in the first place then. So really hoping for a badass real version of arata to come in the next chapters and after that last page, i am positive.
Great chapter, one month hiatus but still cant wait for the next one. Taichi is here as well to complete the trio at omi jingu. This is gonna be super exciting.

Also just realized.
"I am a man who wont go easy on a 5 year old" , it was one of Arata's dialogue from childhood when Chihaya and taichi played a final match with him before he left tokyo.
That is one nostalgic throwback.

I don't even care anymore who'll end up with Chihaya, be it Arata or Taichi they're examples of great character development. My bet Arata will win this match, so Chihaya can focus and more calm on her match with Shinobu.

Glad Chihaya found her focus with her breathing Shinobu is back on track Chihaya wants to win without disturbing the gods or Shinobu She is also pissed at Arata for not putting on the tasuki and demonds them back
Suo has found his desire to win and method of winning
Arata is caught between grandpa and demon mode
Taichi is there to witness chihaya's moment and to see if Arata and Suo can play at their highest point
Suo wants to play Arata in demon mode Hopefully Arata will oblige since both players will be playing at their best

Suetsugu is the gift that keeps on giving.

-That scene of Arata admitting he's scared, just absolute chills. Suetsugu executed his fear and nerves perfectly with one shot. She's telling us again and again that the expectations placed on Arata-whether it be by the karuta community, his grandfathers legacy, and/or himself-are weighing down heavily on him.

-Taichi has finally arrived! I know there are readers that are disappointed and confused by how "underwhelming" his arrival was, but I never saw it as being some big flashy thing-a quiet entrance bringing in the scent of osmanthus with him seems pretty fitting. The last time he returned to the karuta world, his bond with Mizusawa the focus. Now-unsurprisingly-it's his bond with Arata that's at the front and center. Suo and Chihaya have been regaining their footing throughout the matches while Arata has just becoming more undone and scrambled. He's struggling in silence-something Taichi is all too familiar with. Not to say that Chihaya and possibly Suo won't be getting their own scenes with Taichi, but his arrival is far more necessary for Arata at the moment.

-Shinobu fights back-I expected nothing less from the current Queen. I love how Chihaya doesn't fret or scramble this time around like she did in the previous matches. It's always nice to see Chihaya regain her footing from outside support, but it's just as nice to see her stand on her own two feet!

-The breathing technique. Passed from Taichi to Chihaya to Arata. The main trio are always with each other in some way.

-It feels like Suo will lose the title this time around, but I'm still not fully convinced. I don't think it'll be officially over until Yuu arrives with the portrait of grandfather Wataya anyways.

-Last page of the chapter is just too good. Arata is finally breaking free from his grandfathers legacy, and will be playing his own style. I've been waiting for this moment! More selfish, more ruthless-that's the way it should be! If he doesn't go all out then he's not just disrespecting Suo as a player, but he's also disrespecting Taichi-who's dreams he had to "trample" on in order to get this far and we just saw how much it's been eating at him.

-Arata's "love, love. love" scene came to mind. His character having his own issues with the Chiha card-which we know will be read in the final 5th match. The Chiha card playing a pivotal role in Arata x Chihaya scenes. Still no flashback to their own bond-something we've gotten for both Chitose and Taichi from Chihaya. The whole core statement from Suo. Chihaya wanting to meet Arata's passion. The theories, the theories.

The desire to be loved is the last illusion. Give it up and you will be free.

Yes Suo should be the strongest even when he leaves. He is the strongest Meijin ever.

Taichi motivated Arata this time, he reminded him of his true nature which is to trample anyone even if they are a child.

This is becoming more and more garbage.
Taichi,s character is already destroyed by author.
"When they're alive, you can enjoy watching them struggle. When they're dead, you can enjoy tearing out their guts. Tales are things you get to enjoy twice."
