I properly re watched this anime due to my childhood experiences with it. I had to say it was a great movie with a great story. Heidi was a cute character and it was quite sad to see her separated from her Grandpa. But the ending, made up for it. I liked the bonds Heidi shares with others. Good visuals considering when it was made. I'll give a 10/10 for nostalgia, but an 8 for how much I really enjoyed it.

How unfortunate that they had cut a lot of top-quality scenes from the Tv-series. Yuki's growth problems, Heidi's wholesome adventures with Peter, and her dilemma that came with living within Clara's household. While I understand that this is a condensed version, but for an Anime like Heidi that relies on its characters' and their precious interactions with one another, it lessens the emotional effect it has. Quite a shame really. Anyhow, as far as recaps go, I found it pretty decent with its emphasis on important events that happened in the original series. It was nice to watch Heidi again growing up and making good bonds with others.
