2021 is full of idol anime, most of it will be decent (including this, I found the adaptation of Pretty Derby to be decent), although I have my doubts on idol/DJ Wixoss.

Mostly the same production team, but a different studio.

Studio KAI only exists in the Netflix anime catalogue of poor adaptations that have varying levels of production, but thankfully P.A. Works is still around for support.

Really looking forward to this when it hits in January.

Another studio? PAWORKS gave this franchise away to other people?

Wouldn't necessarily say that they GAVE it away, some things probably happened that designated this to another studio.

Well, but still optimistic.

Oddly, I always felt that Works agreed to this franchise for the money.

Pretty sure P.A Works was not on the production committee of the first season, so I doubt they were making a good amount of money with the franchise.

They are credited for "production cooperation" for the second season, but they have not appeared in the credits until now... so, clearly just being there in name.

Then who worked on the first season? And why did they need PAWORKS?

P.A Works did the first season, but it was heavily outsourced, and the studio doing this season now is one of the many studios that helped on the first.

As for why they need P.A Works, who knows. The same thing happened in the A3! franchise, they are credited for production cooperation, but have not appeared in the credits at all(not even for 1 keyframe).

I see it as they are overseeing the production because they don't have time to do the production themselves, kinda like someone that doesn't want to waste time working on something but wants the return that will come from it.

Well, my guesses were mostly based on two things. Typical for them is a good storyline without any fan service and the fact that they took this show after a series of commercial failures.
