| THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- Pretty fine oneshot about Rengoku on his first mission, perfectly showing his personality. His opponent was very interesting in terms of the design and powerful as well, because many Demon Slayers had fallen before Rengoku destroyed this demon. We also learned why Rengoku speaks quite loud. It is probably due to injuries after the fight. After all he had to rupture his eardrums and if he was unlucky enough, then his wounds might remained permanent to some point. |

There's only so much you can do with 20 pages, and the story managed to explain a good deal about Rengoku's character, which was cool seeing as the manga rushes things a little bit. It would be cool to see this oneshot format extended to other pillars, although that might be wishful thinking. I prefer Gaidens to oneshots around 20 pages long, to be honest. |
