It's weird for me to say this as an anime only, but I've from that percentage of the group that has got spoiled about basically everything, so... One of the many things I know it's coming is Reiner's and Eren's reunion: how the one who brought Eren to Reiner is Falco, the fact that Eren forgives Reiner (actually I'm not all sure about this one) and tells him that they're basically the same, that all the other scouts are positioning for the attack, and that simultaneously Willy Tybur is declaring war to Paradis, what Eren responds by transforming, killing him and beginning the attack on Liberio. I don't know how accurate is this, but that's what I understood from what I've heard. So. This might sound weird. The OST from the series that I hear the most is Vogel im Kafig, it's my favourite by far (off topic, but tbf, S3 is the best in terms of music overal, imho), and something I noticed is that it never played complete, I think the longest it got to be played was an arrangement of the second segment during that Levi's squad scene, and by seing the content of this scene with Reiner and Eren, I couldn't help but feel that this was the perfect oportunity for it to be completely played: a piece which can deepen the content of a scene when used properly, a powerful and cathartic scene full of emotional layers and a great callback to season 1 with it finishing when Willy is killed off by Eren, reminiscing of Dina killing Carla (hopefully being the cliffhanger of the episode as well). Yeah, I know this might sound like a huge weed nap (I don't know if that's said correctly xD), but I think it could actually work and make of it an unforgettable scene for the series. Now, as I said, I'm an anime only, so despite of knowing what happens, the fact of not knowing how it happens could make this impossible: the dialogue may be too much to be put into barely 6:20, or all the scenes to adapt would make to excesively cutting it the only possible outcome, or maybe it could come out as something weird, or semantically dissonant or jarring, or it may not fit the tone or outright ruin it... I don't know, it just came to my mind and I really liked the idea. Also, there's the fact that Kohta Yamamoto is the main composer this season, and Sawano is more in a supporting rol Snk S4 OST - Kohta Yamamoto ft. Hiroyuki Sawano xD, so it makes this even harder to happen, as they might wanna come with something new for this pivotal scene. And that's it, what do you think about this delusion of mine? Also... I get why everyone is asking for movies when adapting the last part of the manga, things clearly have gone really crazy, but I'd still prefer the TV format if done with care and proper production, which is asking too much knowing the industry and the history of this series; but I really wouldn't mind to hope many years to get it done right (even something way too absurd like 2025-26 or more), but I know is unlikely, so we're just to see what the production committee decides about it and hope for it to be the best decision. Obviously, all of this is just my opinion. |

Isayama's drawings & storyboard are really good, my experience is simply reading it with vogel im kafig ost playing in the back, that easily gives you the tension of the story, the manga is that good i assure you! Of course, don't miss out the anime too, we can still look forward to the adaptation cause it's handled by experienced script writer hiroshi seko who had also done the previous aot seasons, but meanwhile you can read the manga to get the animation rehearsed in your mind. |

It's gonna be interesting to see how the adaptation actually was the whole time, and some things changed like the ending of S1 or the cuts in the Uprising arc or Grisha's flashback. The only thing I don't wanna know in the future about is the ending of the story, though I'm already seeing it'll be hard to avoid the storm that will come when that chapter drops, that and we already have the last panel, so it's kind (or maybe not) of an expected outcome. Also, I forgot to mention it earlier, but are those titles for ep 3 and 4 confirmed? When we'll get info about the other episodes? And when we'll get a confirmation on the episode count? It's curious, the season already premiered but there's still a lot of uncertain things. We're in for a wild ride. |

Episode 2 HYPEEEE. Just reread 93 and 94, there are such great dialogue moments in the both of them. So many beautiful interactions between characters and its a slight shame a number of them will unfortunately have to shortened. Best girl is arriving in less then 24 hours |

So with the hints from OD: EP2 will adapt CH 93& the first half of 94, and the first half of 95 Ep3 will adapt the second half of 94, the second half of 95, CH 96, and Annie scene from 97. I don`t have a problem with rearranging some scenes from the manga cause any anime usually looks different from the manga "season 1&2 had the same thing", but I`m worried about EP3, I think they should skip OP, ED, or both. |

Not movie quality but, they worked on this as hard as if it were a movie production, but there is one small thing missing there and that is time, a movie has better time per ratio of animation than most tv anime, specially AOT. I think it might look better than Eren vs Reiner in S3 but nowhere near their fight in S2, or even Levi vs Zeke in S3, we will have to see. |

I seriously have no idea what's wrong with this fanbase, it's a freaking one episode, only one episode release & ep 2 is airing in less than a day!!! I cant believe people inbox me to get the staffs social media account or email address saying they wanna give 'feedbacks' for improvements in future episodes.....π I am not a leaker, like the f*** i would know mappa director of photography email or weibo account??? This is my answer : π©π©π© π», you are lucky i am not revealing your account name here π€ I have been keeping silence for the past few days and i will no longer update the infos i got, i come to a conclusion its better to watch the show with ZERO knowledge to assess it objectively, because what i am seeing here, people are just using those infos to imagine & deduce so many things that we don't know but take it almost as facts when the source is from insider staff. This would already insert preconceptions (both good & bad) onto the series before it has even completed the airing... Also if y'all still insisting with ideas like 'fans deserve better, no CGI' 'aot should get perfect adaption like WIT level of animation' 'mappa shouldn't accept the offer to do s4' etc. etc. I suggest you guys read @Kaito10 's post here: https://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=1880830&show=50#msg61356665 This entire thing is super complicated you can blame kodansha for this planning & schedule , you can blame mappa as an incapable studio for taking this project, but ask yourself, have you contributed anything substantially to help with the manga and anime digital sales also the merchandise products etc. to support the industry? I bet many of us can't help to watch the show on pirate sites right after it went live, and when the leaked manga is out, i bet y'all are so hyped to check it & spread it on twitter already....even in that mappa showcase, i saw international fans complaining the japanese fans not leaking any infos when we didn't pay any shits to the event but we expect others to risk committing illegal acts for fans??? i am not trying to criticize anyone here morally because I'm part of this egoistical fandom too, so at least understand mappa situations here and kodansha ultimate goal for this anime is to raise the manga sales since it is ending soon next year but the sales hasn't been as good compared to other series like kny, jjk from shueisha, and as a business company it's normal for them to do so to maximize the profits from this franchise after they see KnY's success, so this entire thing is results from the industry culture and capitalism, it's not something we can resolve right away by simply trashing on any side of them. Also you guys think shitting on mappa studio itself has nothing to do with the staffs? you think the higher-ups would be sitting there to read the complains below official site? it's always the staffs that would had to handle these because they are people on the first line production, it's their responsibility for the products they create... and fans complains can only be conveyed through the staffs themselves to the higher-ups, but how many of you would leave comments like please take good care of the staffs, please don't overwork staffs, please stop taking new projects? most comments i saw are all about how badly this show has turned..how bad cgi is... how the show is a downgrade...how mappa quality drops etc etc. so how do you expect the responsibility would go? it's going to the freaking production staffs !!!! Not saying y'all can't criticize the work, you can!! but please be reasonable & judge it fair when show has completed the airing or at least wait till the climax episodes are out to see if they done a good job there than fear-mongering entire series after each and every episode Currently the staff personal weibo account literally turns into a 'mappa customer centre of feedbacks & complains' .... every day there are 'feedback' comments saying: how this episode directing should have been done....how characters designs should have been drawn..how filters should be used....questioning why WIT can do 2D in short time too but why mappa can't??...why do they decide to use CGI??...and why airing on NHK station????....why pacing takes 2 chp for 1 episode.....ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ» good job aot fans, you are the most dedicated fans i have seen, might as well you guys gather some funds & direct the entire series yourself I will no longer disclose any information i got from there to prevent further staff harassments, I hope you guys enjoy the show as much , we all have different preferences in the criteria used to judge a show's quality, it's subjective after all so please judge with your own opinions, don't get steered and affected by others be it negative or positive views and don't force others to agree with your ideas, thanks! |

IDK about the eastern side of the fans, but I guarantee you if the treatment this season receives is at the same level of Uprising it will still be regarded as well as S3p2. You need to see the bigger picture and history of anime in general, the reception so far of this first ep was better than what I was expecting honestly, I was also expecting the score here on MAL to have gone down into 9.01 or even less than 9, I still think it will go below 9 before ep 5 releases, if it doesn't now that would truly be a surprise. This might be a surprise, but comparing this with other series over the course of the years, this level of criticism by the passionate fans only looks so large because the fan-base of AOT is among the largest in the entire history of anime. |

Oh you are absolutely right, is NOT normal to harass the people involve in the production of the anime, BUT it IS very common, and in all fields, look at Star Wars for example, the whole history of the franchise makes this look like a pic nic lol. The only reason I have this perspective is because I have seen similar things in other franchises, SW being chief among them ( Its also my favorite franchise ever so imagine how much I suffered in my childhood with the prequels ) |

@hinako49 It is sad that it has come to this, as your post are what I look forward to the most in the previous thread and even this, because I find it interesting to hear the opinion of what the persons behind this adaptation has to say. But I understand why you are going to stop and I would also do the same if I was in your situation, I just hope that Mappa staff realize that these people that are complaining are the vocal minority and that the majority of the fanbase enjoyed the first episode and are looking forward to more episode. People are already saying the pacing is going to be bad without even seeing the first episode, like jesus based off the first episode and how well it was adapted, they could have more than given Mappa the benefit of the doubt and atleast see how the second episode will be adapted. Telling persons to go read the manga instead of watching the anime and that is just too toxic imo, I get that persons are very passionate about this adaptation but my god I don't see any sign that says the adaptation will be a complete disaster pacing wise and animation wise. Its a completely different staff and some how people expect Mappa to carbon copy Wit studio style, funny enough the majority of viewers said this feels like any attack on titan season and they would not have any idea that the studio had change. Honestly If I was a staff and saw those comments I would feel down, knowing that I had months of sleepless nights. Personally I wouldn't read fan comments at all, I would just ask if the general opinion of the series is good and that is it. Also your profile pic fits perfectly to your annoyance to all this. lol |

Because, yes, you know the canon but you don't know in which direction the anime will go. Which parts the director thinks won't translate well to screen, how that will affect the anime story. You don't know if the animation will hold out throughout the anime. You don't know if the music will be good throughout. An anime should be reviewed based on the episodes you've watched. That's it. You can rate it however you want, that's your opinion and I do not care, but when you give your take on something? That's something different and you should at least endeavor to give an informed review on the subject at hand. There is already a thread for this. where? looked but couldn't find I think this is what you're looking for. https://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=1880685 yup. thanks for that |

Eren Yeager is probably one of the greatest characters in all of anime. Isayama took a big risk with Eren’s character and it paid off. What a better way to improve upon an already flawed protagonist by pitting him against his friends. I don’t want to call Eren an antagonist either, his motives are very understandable and he is so well written. |

Reiner, Zeke etc. AOT has a really strong number of amazingly written characters |
