The ending is satisfying.. I'm happy and kinda hurt too. All of the kids will now stay together! Even though Emma lost her memories, they will manage everything this is really the best future we could all hope for. I'm glad.

Honestly the ending was pretty ehh and they build up was ehhh, to me it just didn’t feel complete. However i personally i liked the concept of emma losing her memories and her family having the drive to find her, but like IT WAS WAYYY TOO RUSHED. Overall i think the series is pretty good especially the first couple arcs but as soon as we hit the last few arcs, it kinda went downhill ngl.

So it finally ended. However i am wondering what was the point of Ema losing her memories. They got reunited, it doesn't matter much if she lots her memories or not. It's an absolutely unnecessary plot twist right after the story ends. The manga should have ended chapter 180.

How come that losing your memory will not matter much? It is the same as not reuniting with them.

The series just kinda ended didn’t it
This last “arc” could have easily lasted 10+ chapters not the 3 we got, all the buildup and suspense lost for an anticlimactic finale. A character we knew to be dead was revived just to fix the issues in the demon world, the human world has helped all the sick kids and now they are all fine, Emma lost her memory but still found her family so she didn’t really lose them (I’d rather they never found her) the series started strong but this isn’t how I wanted it to end

Overall, The Promised Neverland has been one of the best manga to come out in while. I feel it had some of the most suspense, action, and emotional tie to characters that we have seen in some time.

The overall manga had been one of my favorites, and the story has been riveting to read.

Although the majority of this series has been amazing, the ending was quite anticlimactic and upsetting. I am not really sure what I wanted from the ending. I had a feeling Emma was going to have to make a promise that would end up separating her from her family, so I am not upset she lost her memories and that she will never get to remember who they are.

I just wish there were a chapter or two more to see how they go one with life after this change. Does Emma move in with her old family and make adjustments to have family again? Does she stay with the man and continue to be apart of his family? Will they try to remain friendly and reach out to her from time to time?

I really enjoyed this manga, but I feel it ended with too many questions left on the back burner with just this one thing, let alone anything else that was never fully explained.

Total score of the manga 8.5/10

FINALLY.

What an absolutely generic ending that was. I haven't seen that many ass-pulls in a while, too.
And two years? Really?

I hate it that this manga used to be my absolute favorite. It had so much potential but was mercilessly slaughtered in the end.

rip.

Can't hate the manga really.. binged through it within 2 days but the ending felt really rushed.. how every info and plot twist was conveniently placed in the favour of the Emma's gang of children when others did the research beforehand and guided them.. also how villains just suddenly have a change of heart when Emma talked to them.. I loved the world building and the art is simply superb.. it did convert from a psychological manga to an adventure-shounen one at some point. The ending made me cry so I am okay.. still they could have made the ending not riddled with so many unanswered questions about the human world or should have made the time gap of reunion a bit larger... was entertaining so this will get a good score and recommendation from me.. I wish the authors to do more amazing projects in the future..

Disappointing end to a potentially great manga
It has a really strong start. I really liked 1st half, especially the beginning. But it gone downhill from there. The story and the mystery weren't as engaging as I'd hope to, it feels like the author just don't give much thought toward the details. The details and psychological are what makes the first arc great.

Still, a pretty enjoyable read

Wow-what a read, definitely had it's high and low points.
the first arc was amazing, the second one pretty good too.
Wasn't overly impressed by the final arc and "big battle".
The ending was bittersweet.
I do wish the series was able to uphold the quality and writing of the first arc, could have been incredible. Still glad I was able to follow this story, I wonder how the children will adjust into normal society.
Well done to Kaiu Shirai, I hope to see and read more of his work!

What a cop out. Screw destiny and amnesia. Also oof about shipping. Norman x Aishe FTW or something lol. (Guess the author had run out of ideas. Better than making the story continue forever then have no ending like Berserk.) Kinda wish there was one more chapter about them enjoying their life in the human world which although it was easy/not well-explained for humanity made for an interesting setting. No borders.

And if Emma has dreams about her family from the demon world it's silly for her to be as freaked out as she is when she meets them. Dreams shouldn't be generalized to reality that much, but she's practiced socializing in her dreams for starters.

(Actually I'll give this manga a 9 because the translators did a pretty good job and there was some suspense so I didn't get that bored reading it.)

Ray hasn't gotten to say much of anything for the past ten or twenty chapters. Komi-san, are you Ray? My fave arc was maybe Goldy Pond. Intercepting Norman's plan vs the demons was ok... Which just reminds me this is one of my least favorite manga endings. (The first arc is also one of the better ones.) Rushed ending... And one of the TL I was reading didn't have all the pages, but having it stop at Emma acting shocked was almost ok vs Norman's monologue lol. What even. 9/10 for the good chapters of the manga, 8/10 max for this ending. Musica said thanks one more time in case the audience forgot. Shrug.

The ending was really unsatisfactory and rushed in my opinion. The start of the manga was solid, goldy pond was okay, but from there it kept on going downhill. I really did love some of the characters though, especially aishe and musica.i didn't mind the story itself but execution was poor... This last chapter was just one big wtf. 6/10.

last chapter is a little bullshit ngl, the last fight against the demons was godlike in my opinion, a really good end to the arc and almost to the story, but I personally would have liked it more if Emma really died or even stayed in the monster's world. The last chapters feel rushed and I would've loved some more chapters about how the childrens are doing it in the human world, we also don't know shit about the mothers.

And as everyone is saying, the last chapter is worthles because the monster didn't win anything, emma forgot them but still reunited with them, and kinda remember them I guess? Horrendous las chapter.

Read the entire manga in just one sitting. To be honest, I find myself searching for a reason to call this a masterpiece since reading the first arc. It is by far-- if not, one of the best arcs I've ever read. Straight out 11/10 there. I fell in love with the characters. Seriously. But my expectations gradually declines throughout the series. I just know they'll all live anyways, plus everything just goes along Emma's way. The ending was a bit rushed, I think Emma losing her memories as a sacrifice is utter bs. I'm just glad Ray is alive because he's my favorite character lol

I don't have any complaints about the ending. It's just the way it was executed.. like mentioned, it's definitely rushed. A few chapters on how Emma bonded with the old man, and how the kids looked for Emma, would make a huge difference in my opinion.

I truly enjoyed reading the series nonetheless, as you can see on my new forum sig, ehe. 8/10 for me.

Don't you love it when Norman and co. randomly run into Emma in such a vast world? Finding her through advertisements in news or posters would make some sense but finding her personally doesn't.
I had a feeling that the story has gone off the rails when they introduced the "demon god whose name can't be pronounced" into the story. This character is apparently omniscient and omnipotent without any reasoning in how it came to exist. The whole thing about Musica and her blood existed so that Emma and the others can take the easy way out. The worst part of the story is how they re-introduced Lewis to resolve every problem faced by main characters.
I didn't invest in the series for a long time. Only started reading the manga ever since the anime came out. So thankfully I don't have any attachment with the manga whatsoever. The first 36 chapters only constitute 1/5th of the manga. Rest of it was bad. Can't even give it a 5/10 because the good part was so small. Final score - 4/10.

I lost it all at the ending. I have A LOT of questions. It's good to see Emma, Norman, and Ray reuniting again but I really don't think we got that justice for the three. Especially from all the hardships they've been through. I felt like it was rushed, and it could have been more elaborated because they literally have a new 'mysterious' character. It felt like they built up a lot in the story just to let us fall down real quick. But I guess we'll have to let it be. Still, it has an wonderful storyline.

This along with fma brotherhood is one of the most perfect series I’ve ever read. Just binge read the entire series over the past few days and I loved it. I don’t really get why ppl say the ending was rushed bc it did not feel that way at all, esp compared to most other anime series, the whole series just got better as it went on and went back full circle in the end. Every loose end was tied up satisfactorily and the ending was beautiful. God-tier manga, might buy the complete series when all the volumes get released in english.

I truly loved this series once upon a time. It was a close to 10 for me.

The later chapters esp the ending really took nose dive for me. Certain characters coming alive, trivial stupid death and too many ass pulls. I do feel like it was rushed and things just don’t feel earned. A shame.

I’ll say 7.8/10 for me. It was still an enjoyable series.

I felt like I really enjoyed this manga overall because I binged it in about a week. I could understand the frustration felt if I had followed this along week to week like some of the users here. Overall I felt like the story held my attention very well and had great world-building. The ending was open and I do wonder how the demon world fared after Musica took over as Queen. That just allows opportunities for more spin-offs if the author desires.

Biggest problem with this manga is the execution. It never fleshed out any plot point after the first arc. IMO nothing about the plot points needed any changes, but all of them could've been so much more. Ray became a husk, nothing about how Norman built up his base was shown, and there is so much more that needed elaboration.

6/10

If it had the same story but had 10+ more volumes, I think it could've been a really solid 7 or an 8.

It was as interesting as watching a complete and utter trainwreck. Every chapter I questioned how author is going to fuck things next time and he delivered.
It could be a good story and I don't why it was so rushed with such an insane popularity, but at least I had few good laughs over a sheer awfulness of later volumes.

It would've made more sense if the kids lost their memories of Emma too. And maybe far in the future, Norman and Ray meet Emma and they become friends again, and slowly realize that they were all from the same world. Maybe using little hints like knowing the same characters from a storybook they'd read in Grace Field, or humming the same lullaby as Mama or something.

If TPN didn't rely so much on deus ex machina and time skips, and spent more time world-building or working through the interesting challenges that were presented, I honestly think this manga would've been a masterpiece. At least this ending was more satisfying than Shokugeki no Souma lol. I'm not as angry as other fans. I'll bet it's pretty hard to top off that first act.

Bruh, seeing your other replies in this thread makes me concerned. Bleach and FT were always consistent with what they were doing, heck FT’s ending was typical FT ending, nakama power and all the same bullshit. I would argue that Bleach’s last arc was the same quality as Arrancar arc, it is just that Kubo couldn’t write the ending perfectly.
In case of TPN though, not only the whole feeling of mystery went away after the Escape arc but it also started heavily relying on the typical shounen tropes after having avoided them for most part. It was like I was reading a whole different manga.

I’m not sure if there’s a point. I guess so she doesn’t have PTSD, maybe? That— or since her personality previously was trying so hard to break free — this allows her to reset her personality without too many plotholes.

I really enjoyed the ending. It made me cry a lot although truthfully every step of this manga seems a bit predictable in retrospect. Still it was executed pretty well. I wish they’d have explained the whole Rartri clan dynamic some more (why are they so neutral above ground?). Also do we assume the demon world recovers without humans? Also did they teleport the c/d/f grade humans? Questions man... but anyways. 10/10. Can’t wait for season 2. I wonder if they’ll try to adopt it all in one go.

This manga went from 9 to 4. It started so good and I had my hopes up because all of the hype and recommendations from friends about it. After Goldy Pond arc the only good was Imperial Capital. Some of the characters were left behind forgotten by the author and almost never mentioned again. Some were developed mid way and left there just to appear for non-relevant discussions to the plot.

I personally felt it like the author himself was not interested in writing the story himself. Even the main cast was so badly "trashed" it was painful to continue reading.

ok so i just finished reading and... it was quite the journey. I laughed I got surprised I was scared I fell in love and I cried, ALOT (like way too much) and then the end. that's it. after EVERYTHING she just had to forget and they had to find her...

I didn't hate the ending but I didn't love it either.. I really hoped that what she said to everyone was true because it MADE SENSE!
in my eyes this nameless god is actually the writer of this story they started it all so people like you and I will have "entertainment" so they could tell their story and entertain us.
so it made sense to me that after making them suffer for so long and after every time they got through with, it made sense that they deserve their happy ending it could have totally end there and then, I'm sure everyone would have been satisfied... BUT NO, SHE JUST HAD TO SUFFER EVEN MORE.
its not the ending they deserve nor we the readers who fought alongside with those heroes.

and even though I didn't like the ending there was something that it did add I don't know what exactly it was (maybe the appearance of Conny or maybe how Emma still felt warmness when she saw her family) but the feeling it made me feel was something that can't be replaced anymore.

I still have so many unanswered questions and I really hope maybe something will change in the anime but for now I want to thank for the amazing journey this manga has put me through. I believe that a good story is judged by how much it made you FEEL and this made me feel SO MUCH I was truly happy and truly sad truly angry and truly scared and most of all I truly LOVED EVERYONE.

A lot of people say that this manga had a great potential that was wasted and I can't help but agree with them, and still this is one of the very few stories that I believe that even when I grow gray and old I will never forget how or what it made feel.
