I had a feeling this would happen somewhere along the line. Now, the only "villain" left is Miya-sama and the Sorority.

Those who have tried to off themselves:

Mariko

Yeah, I was just thinking "There sure are a lot of suicide attempts in this show". I think the one criticism I really have against this show is that it goes over board a lot with the drama.

Well at least we know Misaki and her friends won't be causing trouble anymore.

Gotta love how much Nanako has matured over the course of the show. It was basically the same situation as in the beginning, except she talked back to Aya now.

Not sure what to think about Aya's sudden image change. How did hatred between Aya and Mariko suddenly become just rivalry. They remind me of those "frenemies" from American teen movies. I'd say this was a bad turn of events, but being that Aya was just a side character, it doesn't damage the show.

All the characters need therapists, all of them.
That's another character arc resolved though, I didn't think we'd get one for Misaki so it was a nice surprise for her to be expanded upon.

Please, help me find a person there who didn't try to commit a suicide.

You know, Sailormoon - 'monster-of-the-day', Oniisama - 'suicide-of-the-day'.

How...how does this anime manage to set its dramatic scenes up so well? At this point, my only nitpick is how sharply Aya converted into being a semi-supportive character for the cause. I completely and utterly understand the context in which she made this decision, but it feels...convenient? As in, I do recall Mariko mentioning knowing Aya from middle school early in the series, but for Aya to suddenly turn into a tragic character like this, it just seems so convenient. As in, in order to be a character worth mentioning in this series, you must have some sort of trauma. It just feels all too convenient. But, if my only nitpick is there's a too large abundance of really harsh and intense drama, then that's a pretty amazing problem to have. This is amazing.

I think this was the only suicide attempt where I wasn't entirely feeling the drama. I feel like maybe we haven't gotten enough time to get attached to her? This was the first episode to really portray her in a positive light, after all, and all of her character development was squeezed into it.

Mona-lisa and Borgia and the 2 minions are positively compared to fish.
Remember last episode where there's this one still frame, where a fish is swimming then stops right on Misaki's face?
And then food are dropped into the tank for the fish, just as the Sorority girls are seducing the others. Hahahahaha

yaaaa, though the boys are really nice and don't have any blemish, this anime is still the best when there're only girls!!! Oh they could have all been friends.

I think Misaki's suicide attempt is portrayed OK, and the road to her sympathetic side is not convenient at all.
When you have a brush with death (an upperclass girl who probably hasn't seen blood all her life), then become thoughtful, thinking back on your previous life, and suddenly see it's all pointless and petty and bad, and u don't really have a means to get out of it. Then depression comes, naturally.
Remember last ep when Kaoru confronted Misaki and said she was the only one who could put a stop to this (when Tomoko was fighting with her friends). Kaoru is often hot-blooded and violent to her, but this time she was surprisingly gentle and understanding and soft-voiced. Facing that beautiful bishoujo must have dealt a blow to Misaki.

Seems most are signing the petition because they couldn't get in the Sorority, also known as Tyranny of the majority or because they have a crush on the ones leading the petition in Kaoru and Rei.

It's not like everyone can join and play in Kaorus basketball club, but they're not disbanding that. Rei can just jump in ahead of other members at Koaru's request.

Misaki's journey this episode didn't really work for, even though the suicide attempt was foreshadowed in this episode I'm not sure why she attempted it.

I really disliked the setting and the way the characters behaved at first but this just keeps on getting better and better. Unlike most other series that remain stagnant with their initial setting, this has developed so much in every aspect, it's amazing.

Man the girls in this series really are suicidal...so should I now suddenly feel compassion for Misaki after all the despicable things she did without her having apologised? at least she changed herself for the better in attitude, so we got that going..

Can we, for a moment, just appreciate how assertive & independent Nanako has gotten? At the beginning of the series she couldn't speak up, wouldn't do anything about bullying, would just comply with everything - just how Fukiko perceived her, but now she's independent & strong-willed. Beautiful character development, that's all I can say.

Characters are suicidal left and right as of recently, but it makes sense - especially in Misaki's case, I believe it's very conspicuous. She really is detestable, and you can see that she faced that understanding head-on after her injury. After a lot of pondering, she wanted to end her life knowing that she's nothing but a wretched monster that only brings harm to others.

Seriously, this series is shaking me. Bitches are attempting to off themselves left and right! The psychological aspect is really killer, actually, and I'm loving Nanako more each episode 😍

I think there was a hint that this atonement episode would comecan't forget about the obligatory suicide attempt either

Too convenient to add a flashback scene that portray Mariko and Misaki's relationship as a mere rivalry, the episode would have been better without it and just let Mariko had her moment of healing from the decision she made to stop the bullying from Misaki meanwhile Nanako is able to show her growth.

Misaki attempting to suicide makes sense since her whole persona was about her superiority over others and how she was meant to be part of the sorority even when she wasn't invited to be a member and now the sorority is facing being eliminated just right after she got wounded by the same girl who actually was part of the sorority and she seemed to enjoy to insult and then theres that other girl (Nanako) that she disliked who is part of the let's get rid of the sorority, who is Misaki now? Just insults and a fake sense of superiority that most people dislike so not surprised that depression hit her hard.

sry thats not enough to repay for all the bullying shes done
just too much effort and planning, it was nothing but pleasure for her, it was the most vile shit
obviously id also try to save her because i have a moral compass but id also slap her in the face call her a fucking evil moron and say that i still hate her and that itll take much more work to make up for all the bullying
i am able to sympathize with bullies, especially when theyre victims themselves, but she wasnt particularly victimized in any way so far apart from not being able to get whatever she wants (also she deserved to get that knife scare HA)
but on her part that was just too much vile shit she gotta work on it herself before i feel for her, the show has not convinced me at all to feel for her, i still resent her and she acting like shes unaware of what shes doing "when did i become wretched?" seriously? u seriously have no idea what u been doing u spoiled fucking brat?
miya has a better chance of making up for things than aya, straight up

This doesn't make up for her bullying and the vile things that she's said, though it's a step in the right direction. In this case, she actually is one of the few signers who signed the petition from the goodness of her heart. Most other people were motivated by not getting in and their crush on Kaoru/Rei.

Maybe Misaki isn't so bad. She's still a person with feelings after all. When you're hurt, one can say, or do things that they shouldn't, and Misaki took her pain out on others, but she finally realized that it was wrong. Thankfully, Nanako and Tomoko were able to stop Misaki from killing herself, and even Mariko has apologized to her.

Let's see how the petition goes.
