What is the TV show about?

Is it basically something like a prequel, focusing on a younger Makoto and King? Or is the story completely different, sharing with the anime just the fact it's set in Ikebukuro?

I've just watched on youtube some videos of it and it didn't look similiar at all, so I was just curious.

what is that something? is there another anime? or you are referring to the manga?

its different from the anime, the only characters from the show that have an anime version on top of my mind is just Makoto, Takashi and Kyouichi.

the tv series is similar to the anime where it is episodic but with each episode leads to a bigger conclusion. Its a comedic murder mystery drama that tackles some social issues in japan with each episode.

I would recommend watching as i find it interesting and enjoyable, but it has no relevancy to the anime (New ED from Episode 7 is the opening for the TV drama so its a nice throwback)
