Ugh, left us on a cliffhanger. It’s so unfortunate that this series will most likely not get picked up again, as it had great art and great potential of character development and a story ahead of it :(

The series was never dropped. The plan was only to move it from the Jump SQ magazine to the Jump+ App, but when they did the mangaka put it on hiatus to work on the Magus of the Library project. With the success Jump+ is seeing now 7th Garden could easily come back when the mangaka is ready.

The mangaka left the company so this will never come back.
I may make you feel but I can't make you think.

Not actually true.

Kodansha is a direct competitor to Shueisha.
I may make you feel but I can't make you think.

Hate to break it to you but mangaka can and sometimes do work for multiple different publishers throughout their careers.

Publishers in Japan aren't exactly direct competitors. There's often alot of communication between editors of different publishers, especially when certain projects are looking for artists to adapt specific works like what seems to be the case with Mitsu Izumi adapting Magus of the Library for Kodansha.

Plus in case you haven't noticed, Shueisha has never stated 7th Garden is outright canceled which would have been stated if it was. Publishers are pretty consistent with stating the status of their series.

This sucks that this series is in permanent hiatus as of now. This series had potential. Hopefully there is an anime of this and hopefully the manga will pick up.
