Should I watch the TV show instead.

I knew about IWGP before the anime was announced from a friend who loves the tv series. That was when I found out it was a novel first and then got a tv and manga 'adaptation.' I say adaptation loosely because each piece of work is different but from what I've heard, they're great. I wanted to give the anime a shot first and give it the standard 3 episodes to see if hooks me in. Now after 3 episodes... I'm contemplating if I should just watch the tv show instead. The anime is average at best. Each episode didn't offer much and I was quite bored with them. And this week's episode... don't even get me started by how ridiculous it was. I just can't follow the logic behind the anime and where it's trying to go. I know it's not going to be a faithful adaptation and that isn't a problem for me but I can't take the tone of the anime seriously.

So should I just watch the tv show instead? I've heard many great things about it and might prefer it to the anime.

I watch the drama a month ago and clearly so far, the anime isn’t at the same level. I still haven’t read the original book (I’m planning to). But yeah, the Tv show (drama) was way more enjoyable for me. The first episode of it should be enough.

I think I got it on Nyaa.si
There’s only one translation of it in english and it’s old, it’s only 480p, nobody did the bluray version of it
