Probably to test her if she is really strong... honestly I don't doubt that Nyarlathotep would kill Chloe and Noel if she was too weak... maybe Kai would in worst case scenario intervene during fight or try to convince Nyarla to not kill her but it would be end of Chloe career as ghost hunter. |

| They just dropped the plot hook for the next arc at the very end like it's nothing. I'm hoping said arc will provide some structure to this story cause so far we've just been jumping around introducing characters. It's not that big a deal but I kinda want some plot soon.
