This is actually my second time reading. It's so freakin' cute I can't help myself. They both experience a social hardship but the way things unfold without any power imbalance was unexpected. In spite of being a quick read it did great conveying this much.
I didn’t focus on it the first time but Fujino’s view of Tsukada traveled to the mouth, while the other lingered on eyes. It reflects what they can’t express about themselves at the start but also the trait that best describes them individually. Fujino could finally say what he really wants and, it’s subtle, but Tsukada could put value in himself through someone else’s eyes. What I love most about it though is how it fills in that juicy ~tension~ I mean isn’t that the best part about reading romance lmao
I wish it was longer because they're too adorable and relatable, more character exploration with “mad dog” would be so nice. We can assume things but ugh, so much good, so little time.
I also liked the friends and how respectful they were by not pressing them about anything. Being the same as always. Wholesome.
We can't forget grammy, who definitely knew. Major Mulan's grandma vibes. (Would you like to stay for dinner scene)
I’ll probably end up reading this again down the line. |
