Bruh. This episode is absolutely fucked up, and I love it. It's been ages since an anime left me this speechless and sick to the stomach, Babylon is really turning out to becoming one of my favorite psychological thrillers that I've seen

Im kinda rages with these quotes. But i aggreed in some kind of perspectives. Lol

This episode had the more pursuasive argument for the suicide law, compared to ep6.

I am now unsure what Ai's motivations are. At first, I thought she was just a bit unhinged and just supported the major's opinion, but now she just seems unhinged.

Good episode

How to crush a man's soul in one episode 101. Man, that was fucked up and it seems Seizaki's living nightmare isn't over yet since Magase knows about his wife and son too. He better have understood about "evil" now because guess who are gonna be the next examples if he didn't.

Pretty intense episode. Not gonna lie, I was expecting something absolutely shocking to happen but an execution streaming was the last thing I was thinking of. Honestly and considering how involved "sex" is in the narrative, I was expecting a disturbing outcome related to that topic. I mean: a woman who can ignite men's sexual desires to the max + Sekuro being the only other woman around + an ominous streaming link... you get the idea. The objective of breaking Seizaki's moral conceptions and ideals was the same (and the studio fucking nailed it) but all things considered, it was still a quite gruesome and perfectly directed sequence. I still wonder how Magase's ability works in women tho... do they have to be sexually interested in women as well? does that mean Sekuro was at least lesbian or bi?

On the other hand, Itsuki giving the Suicide Law more context by explaining how "beneficial" it would be for organs donation was interesting but since he wants "death" and "life" to be equals as well as Magase wants the same for "evil" and "good", I look forward to seeing his curious mindset getting more insight.

So they just put sex + violence + pseudophilosophy + suicide and that's it takes to make an anime "mature".
I guess it would works on the average teenager, but we are fucking weebs, aren't we ?

Also, the organ donation argument makes no sense : it would just be a cover for "assisted" suicide (aka murder), organ thievery, human traffic or things like these.

edit: I forgot that he said, in the previous episode, that the suicide law would not increase the number of suicide. If so, it should not increase the number of organ donation either (at least in my country, since the consent is by default if we didn't express the contrary when we were alive).

I feel bad for Seizaki. Losing all those people at the same time, and then to lose Sekuro whilst being unable to do anything, that's gotta hurt.

I'll admit I switched off during Itsuki's speech at the start. It was pretty boring. Thank god the action saved the episode for me.

So in Magase's final insane speech, she says Sezaiki has been raised 'in a good society surrounded by good things', was she implying the opposite for her?

All we know from a previous episode(from the uncle):

- she was adopted
- she appeared evil as a child
- she mind-raped her fellow middle-schoolers

was it implied by this speech that she had perhaps been serially sexually assaulted at a younger age and now was taking revenge on all of society, using her 'talents'? Or is she just the manifestation of 'The Whore of Babylon' and I shouldn't try to read more into it.

If that attitude makes the final scene go down easier for you, more power to you. I was horrified when I watched it last year and it still horrifies me. The idea of a villain so powerful that they can instant-hypnosis you into following any order is terrifying to contemplate. Magase Ai just might be be the most terrifying villain I've even seen depicted in anime, just short of the main villain of True Detective S1.

Magase is just... there is no word that fits. That was very gruesome! My whole perception of her has changed. She was obviously not good to start by encouraging people to end their lives but murdering someone in that way is truly evil. I feel so bad for what Sekuro had to go through );

2 years on and I'm still conflicted over this anime. Obviously Magase doesn't have supernatural abilities, she's written to represent an idea of ultimate evil and how we as a society are to react to it.

This episode absolutely destroyed the series. Is killing off every single character their idea of progression? Is cruelty necessary? Hell no. It's killing off everyone Seizaki is affiliated with just for the purpose of depressing the audience. That's the absolute lowest an anime can get. Anyone who deems this shitfest of an episode "necessary" is psychopathic, a goon who thrives on grade C popcorn entertainment, or just plain stupid. Cheap thrills and unnecessarily morbid scenes of gore destroys any series with an interesting premise. Babylon essentially did just that with this episode by trying to be something that stokes the masses with it's uncalled for brutality and forced thrills, effectively lacking any good elements that could classify it as a mystery.

100% agree. This show would actually be far better if Ai was killing off the odd character. The death count is literal overkill and I now basically don't care. This show is dumb, I'll finish it but I don't expect it to improve. Also the whole law and new city thing is completely pointless, make Ai a serial killer who makes people commit suicide and make her very hard to catch and that is that. Show would be so much better for it.

Yes this is armchair bullshit on my part but whatever, this show is just gross.

I don't think I've ever been this shocked about the contents of a singular episode before. If you like psychological/thriller animes definitely see this one through

I know I am late to this show, but man, I was screaming for Saisaki to pull out his phone and record the stream happening right in front of him, or he could have brought the laptop to someone right outside his office door, Homie is smart, but clearly was not using his brain there. Dumb

Mirai Nikki had nothing on this episode, maybe Stepen King's Misery. Did not expect to see the level of murderous intent of manipulation, control and abuse in Magase Ai.
