| Gosh it doesn't feel like it's reached volume 17, I'm surprised when Aqua will return to heaven, besides that the demon lord turns back to life. The explosion from Megumin defeated the demon lord (Yasaka Kyoichi) and Kazuma died. After that, Kazuma met Eris in heaven and was given two choices, whether Kazuma wanted to live to Japan and get wealth and beautiful lovers or want to return to the parallel world but got nothing. It turns out that Kazuma prefers to live with his party (surprisingly). Aqua cried and sad because she had to part with Kazuma. Here Kazuma realized that the goddess who had accompanied him was a beautiful girl. After they got up in the demon lord territory it seemed like Kazuma would propose darkness (here I don't really understand whether Kazuma would propose to Aqua or Darkness). ~ Happy End  |

| @MakingTheMaouCry I think it's normal there are no complicated things to make you confused, maybe a little confusing is Kazuma so who proposed? Lalatina/darkness? |

| volume 17 chapter 1 was a fun chapter. 7/24/20 Megumin killed one of the Demon King's protectors before we even got to hear his name, and the barrier is destroyed. The gang then went inside to meet up with the others but aqua was missing. Kazuma saw an obvious trap button similar to the one in isekai quartet, it ended up teleporting him to a dark room where aqua was crying like a little b1tch. They end up facing three demon king underlings and the back-to-back stance between the two was pretty cool, sad that they had to kill off payne even though he was trick into slashing down his teamate logia and noss at the end got teleported to Axel's police station. After all that Kazuma & Aqua had in the dungeon. volume 17 chapter 2 was a funny chapter. 7/25/20 Their teammates didn't come and the other elite guards were coming so Kazuma disguised himself as noss and took Aqua hostage, after meeting up with the rest of the demon king's elite guards the other party was captured as well. Kazuma then pulled a sneak attack and asassinated the elite guard general while pulverizing the rest of the guards as well with the squad. Magic sword guy goes on a rant about Kazuma not taking care of the shitty goddess he loves and it seems like they were about to head back until Kazuma realized he was broke after spending his entire fortune on the manatite so now he changed his mind in attempt to take the bounty set on the demon king's head. Pretty nice chapter ngl and a bit sad as well. volume 17 chapter 3 was a build up chapter. 8/4/20 Kazuma uses the skill lurk and tries to sneak behind the demon king but instead got his head lop off by an undead grim reaper. After death Eris comes in giving him motivation and also some reminisce about all the fun times they had together in the world. Now with a change of plans, instead of teleporting to safety, Kazuma is now going to face the demon king in a one on one battle in the deepest depths of the dungeon. After being revived he comes forth with this plan and succeeded. The chapter ends off with "Teleport!" volume 17 chapter 4 was the end but not the end. 8/8/20 Kazuma finally defeated the Demon King in a suicide explosion event where he pulled out his adventurer card and allocated his unused points into explosion magic after being brought to the familiar white room he was made a special exception to be returned back to the world since he defeated the demon king and his long awaited wish was to bring back a certain goddess with him. The demon king's daughter and her forces made it back to the castle and everyone was in a bit of panic but at the end of the chapter Aqua had something to say and it somehow made Kazuma's heart skip a beat. Volume 17 Epilogue. 8/15/20 Well it looks like the journey has come to an end, Kazuma gets a little too carried away and declared "Alright, daddy’s making a harem." No surprise he gets kicked off the mansion right afterward. It's been a fun ride and I have nothing much else to say.  |

| Final chapter and epilogue up and translated now Guess this is finally the end of the road. Been a wonderful journey from start to finish and it's sad to see it go, but it had a great run The afterword indicates he'll likely write some spin-offs and/or sequel thingy in the future as there are still some questions left to be answered though, so hopefully we'll still get to see a bit more of these lovely characters eventually ^_^ |

| Finally after putting off this final volume for about 3 months I managed to finish it and I am actually pretty happy with this ending. Megumin spamming her explosions was a lot of fun to read. Especially the terrified reactions of the demon king soldiers. Most of this volume had me feeling bad for the demon king soldiers. Kazuma and Aqua's interactions in this volume were probably the best part of this volume. They really do have a lot of fun together. Kazuma and Eris still have the best friendship in the series. Eris buffing up and trying to encourage Kazuma after he died had me smiling. Kazuma actually managed to defeat the demon king in a one on one fight. Kazuma really is a top tier tsundere! I love how Kazuma after all of that build up dragged Eris back with him instead of Aqua. Kazuma really was Kazuma right until the very end lol It really is sad to see this series come to an end. I would love to see a sequel after seeing it hinted in the afterword but I don't expect to see one anytime soon. |

| Decent final volume, but underwhelming and anticlimactic ending for sure with some ends left open and not resolved well enough. Overall, Konosuba was a journey that had its ups and downs, volumes that I enjoyed and volumes that borderline made me want to fall asleep. But while I would consider the series to be an average one due to the amount of volumes I wasn't impressed with, I still feel glad to have picked the novels up. Going to try and complete some side story volumes over time. |
| wait....wtf.....so the whole thing about he ends up with Megumin, is bullshit? I want a sequel but WTF, I watched both seasons recently after I found out about "he starts dating Megumin" but it's actually him maybe finally looking at Aqua as a potential girl rather than a bratty goddess. |
