So it begins....the heroines game. I find the idol stuff to be pretty cringey so far. Honestly, I think the series would be better off without that stuff.

A lot still needs to be explained, but seeing Red Riding Hood rolled into one with the wolf and the hunter was quite an interesting sight. With grandma's skull there as well, she essentially seems to represent the main elements whole story by herself. Might also explain Queen Alice, but we really need to find out more about the background of them both as well as the "game".

Without spoiling anything: Alice is a an idol that aims to be a big star. She pretends to be a sweet girl but she's actually quite cruel and cold hearted towards most people except her sister.

She ends up in this fairy tale world where she has a rough encounter with a girl that seems to be a twisted version of Red Riding Hood. Due to some incidents she ends up participating in some kind of Death Game with other heroines from popular fairy tales.

The rules are as follows: during a tea party one of the girls gets a ticket that makes her the heroine of the next round of the game. All other girls automatically become huntresses and have to kill the heroine. The game takes place in the world of the current heroine. If the heroine survives, she wins and if the huntresses kill the heroine, they win. The long term goal of the entire game is to be the last one standing in order to get the chance to change something in your fairy tale, like getting your desired happy ending.

So far I've only read volume 1 so that's where I take my knowledge from. Still, I hope it helps.

Cool, thanks man

The last part where the winner gets to change their own tale reminds of another story, can't seem to remember. Does it ring any bells for you? Probably not Pandora's Heart right?

I'm not sure but personally it reminds me heavily of the mobile game SINoALICE which was recently released in the West. It features twisted versions of fairy tale protagonists that kill everything in their way (and each other) to revive their author because they want something in their story changed. (most of them at least) Otherwise no comparisons come to mind.
