Did you watch the OVA before or after the TV series

I've heard many feel the TV series was somewhat lackluster. I watched the OVA first and then started the series and I feel that it's been pretty good. I'm wondering if perhaps chise's backstory as told in the OVA has made it more enjoyable perhaps? Granted I haven't finished the series yet but I'm still curious of your thoughts

I've just finished the series on Netflix and its order there is first the OVAs an then the series. I think that if I had started with the TV series, I wouldn't have enjoyed it so much. The OVAs caught my attention and made me love Chise and then I discovered how she reached that point on her life when she is somehow at peace. Don't know if this makes any sense...

Saw this firts thinking it was the tv series. Didnt understand many things at first but it was good after all.

I watched the series first and I think it help me. It really helped with understanding and have a deeper meaning to the ova. Regardless of what order it was seen in I think that they supplement each other nicely.
