| It's nws to me that Char was "fighting for newtypes future" in 79. When you try to make sense of him in that time, you just can't. He's a wandering child with nothing more than revenge in mind, that makes him extremely hollow to the point he at times seems like he's suddenly embracing his father's beliefs, and at others sounds even more extremist. Oh, and of course, as a 19years old boy, he also tries to fill his empty life with a girl (who's also a tool, of course). The war was nothing else than a playground to him, where he could hope to reach the Zabi or that he could exploit in order to get them. |
| The Feddies never gassed a colony of their own people (Spacenoids) and dropped it on Side 3 (Zeon controlled colonies) in an attempt to force their enemies to surrender. Gihren was an ends justify the means type of commander. He wanted to shock the Federation and Earth into a paralyzed stagnation with the sheer power and ruthlessness of Zeon. The Feddie government is out of touch with the colony humans, but they're never outright malicious towards them. The only missteps by the Feddies were giving the Titans a blank check to do whatever they wanted against spacenoids. After another colony drop on Earth's food supply zone. And in Unicorn when the Feddies built another colony laser to force compliance of the colonies after the 3 Zeon wars and a 4th one over the Laplace Box. |
