 The official website of Majutsushi Orphen Hagure Tabi (Sorcerous Stabber Orphen), the new television anime adaptation of Yoshinobu Akita's adventure fantasy light novel series, announced a second season on Wednesday. A 15-second commercial for the new season was also posted by anime production enterprise Genco.Synopsis In a world of magic and monsters, Krylancelo Finrandi and his foster sister Azalea Cait-Sith were once promising students of sorcery, prodigies at the famous Tower of Fangs. But an experiment gone horribly wrong warps Azalea's appearance, trapping her in the form of a dragon. Elders at the Tower—more interested in preserving their reputation rather than their students' lives—drive off the transformed Azalea and cover up the incident. Outraged, Krylancelo strikes out on his own, taking the new name of "Orphen" and vowing to return Azalea to her normal state. Five years later, Orphen's quest has stalled. A chance encounter brings him face to face with Azalea again, but he still has no way to restore her body. And with a hostile group of sorcerers hunting her down, he may be running out of time. The past and present collide as Orphen tries to find how to save Azalea from their former teachers and friends. [Written by MAL Rewrite] The new television anime produced by Studio Deen, originally planned for last year, began airing on January 7 and ended with 13 episodes on March 31. The second Blu-ray and DVD volume will bundle an unaired episode on May 8. Funimation simulcast the anime with subtitles and began streaming an English dub on January 21. The new anime series commemorates the 25th anniversary of the light novel.  The original novel was published by Fujimi Shobo in 20 volumes between 1994 and 2003, featuring illustrations by Yuuya Kusaka. Akita also wrote a 13-volume side story novel titled Majutsushi Orphen: Mubou-hen alongside the main series from 1996 to 2003. Kadokawa published the two-volume Majutsushi Orphen: Mawari Michi short story in 1997-1998.TO Books published a ten-volume sequel novel series between 2011 and 2015. The company has since reprinted the original novel and the Mubou-hen side story novel in ten and seven volumes, respectively. Akita penned a prequel novel in January 2019, the second volume of which shipped on April 1 that year. A new volume connecting the prequel to the main series was published on December 25 last year. Hajime Sawada drew the first manga adaptation in Monthly Dragon Junior between 1997 and 2001. The second part ran in the same magazine from 2002–2003. Illustrator Muraji launched a new three-part manga adaptation on Famitsu's Comic Clear website between 2016 and 2018. Kadokawa published the manga in five compiled volumes. J-Novel Club licensed the light novel in English in July 2018 for digital release and published the sixth volume on February 9. | It still boggles me that shit like this and Arifureta get seconds seasons while other shows that are far more popular, better produced, and better written just fade into irrelevancy, but hey I guess that's the industry so big r.i.p there |

| So I take it that this new upcoming season will be the remake of Orphen Revenge? (Idk i'm just assuming it is so, but i haven't watched the remake yet so i don't even know if the first season actually got finished in the remake) |
