| THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- This will continue as a trend now as expected and it starts with Miku. The last of anything meaningful from Miku I guess. Leaves a bitter feeling of how all the talks of fairness, hardwork, honesty and improving oneself have been put to shame. Those who followed this manga closely can never accept Yotsuba winning like this. Even if they were in for Yotsuba. The chapter is less than okay. But that was because of Miku being Miku. Oh well. 3/5 |

| I have already pointed it out in my post above and in other posts before this thread. It shows that you and many others were "reading it" which is not the same as closely following it. Negi killed his own narrative from Fuutarou's POV by making Yotsuba the winner ahead of Miku and Nino. I would have no problem should she have won AFTER she changes. Not like this. It's poor writing. This is coming from someone who predicted a Yotsuba win and have had her as their second choice. |

| This chapter was done not because Miku needed to relief herself, but she knew Yotsuba was conflicted about Uesugi's feelings and how her sisters felt about him. Miku was basically showing Yotsuba "despite all, we are still sisters", just like when Yotsuba failed in their last school. |

I say, "set in stone" yots winning because since the start, negi, wanted her to win and I think you can tell based on how he writed her at the start of the series (having her become the funny sidekick that helped fuutaro) to then write as the glue that hold them (the quints) back and together at the same time and finally writing her as the martyr for love before the "big reveal" (which if you read back the entire story you can see it coming from miles away). If there's one thing you may say had no foreshadowing or sense in this series is ichika's evil side outta nowhere. Still mad about it. |

| Damn Miku came a long way, she is finally able to like who she is and not be others. Yotsuba was also bold enough to say what her feelings are. Miku finally moved forward, glad it wasn't all buddy buddy he chose you I will accept it crap instead we got her being angry and frustrated that her feelings didn't reach him, but it could have been done better by showing more of Miku and Fuutarou moments, so we'll get this kind of chapters from other Quints as well, hope they're well written Still hoping something would happen in the four years before the marriage and we get a harem end |

I answered your post saying that you were wrong about saying it was just "poor writing" having her winning, yet you concentrate on another part of my post. Maybe you weren't "closely following" on that. I would have enjoyed more chapter with her renewed self too, with her standing up and stating her feelings to her sister openly, but, still, Yotsuba was written to be the winner from the start, I would've liked nino myself and before, the evil flip, even ichika, but I'm not going to be salty and rude about it, just because my favorite one didn't win, because that's just pathetic man. |

Also, this is my final wish but let's hope that we won't get any of Miku from now on heck even Nino too cause every time I see them I just begin to hate negi more and more. also, please don't show them with any other men |

| I still really like this series but holy shit I can't just get over the shipwreck. I personally and easily say that Gotoubon no Hanyome is my favorite harem. I might feel annoyed at the fact that (if) Nino loses, just at least let the others girls' parts to end on an amazing note. Also, to keep the manga's quality as good as before, Negi must redeem all of the views he created as of the past volumes yet keeping the story to end well. I just want to get a justification that Yotsuba deserves to win at the end. An average chapter nonetheless. |

I think this chapter was fine, not great, but not terrible either, just fine, the real problem is that no matter what negi does people are going to be angry, and unlike the anime ending of bokuben, there's no real excuse here outside of being annoyed that either your pairing didn't sail, or it being rushed, and so far it seems fine to me with the pacing. Also #teamfumino, hard to say what path bokuben will take, though i have a striking suspicion that uruka is out of the race due to the anime ending, but time will tell on that. |
| The problem with these chapters is that it all feels like a excruciating epilogue after Futarou made his pick known. The ,a gala should have given Yotsuba much, much more page time and develop her more before coming to this. No point in doing it now. |

| Great chapter for Miku. I am still surprised Yotsuba won though I like her character. I never thought she had a chance until her backstory was revealed. |

| Decent chapter. I'm still sad that I have to decrease the overall score of what was my favorite harem after Kami Nomi but Negi, unfortunately, threw all of the build-up and narrative out of the window for romantic development. People can call me salty all they want but the fact is that Yotsuba was my 2nd favorite after Itsuki so I'm not mad at the fact that she won, it's just the way it was executed. The manga's name is "GOTOUBUN NO HANAYOME" which means "5 EQUAL BRIDES", which is a lie for everything that this manga stands for because it was never about 5 equal birdes. |

| Why does Negi have to disrespect all the development he gave to Miku? This doesn't feel fleshed out in as to why Yotsuba is the true winner and I'm seeing more fans being pissed about it, since Yotsuba wasn't one of the top two main favorites. Hell, I'd argue the top three were between Miku and Nino, with Itsuki trailing behind. This just seems hamfisted writing that is rushed with no real spine to hold the reasonings for his decision on best girl. |

| i had tears in my eyes reading this chapter, miku was always my last favorite quint but now i can finally say i love her so much, her story was incredible, when she trew the ribbon away i was so proud of her. my girl yotsuba had some amazing expressions here |

| The problem with Yotsuba is that she never grew as a character. As I said, Negi maybe wanted to let Yotusba win, I am not against that, but he did not have the time to develop her character, all feels rushed. We can notice that in the last two chapters where Yotsuba stills the same from the beginning even after saying that she changed a few chapters back. While the rest of the Sisters evolved and demonstrated some growth, she stills frozen, and her traits still the same from chapter 1. That indicates that at some point, the real plot twisted, and the decision was to finish the manga as quickly as possible. From a narrative perspective, a teacher once told me that if you grab a character and if it hasn't any substantial change emotional and in the personality, then the character is not well elaborated. Grab Yotsuba from the first chapters; she is the same. On the other hand, grab the other sisters, Miku changed, Nino changed, Itsuki changed, and Ichka changed too. |

| Everyone complaining about bad writing because their quint lost or they couldn't see enough signs that Yotsuba will be the one. Am I the only one that sees bad writing in Miku not knowing any songs even though she is always carrying her headphones? What is she listening to then? Only option this is not bad writing is if she is only listening to some calssical music from Sengoku Period and doesn't know anything more modern, but it was never stated. Now that I think about it the only time we could see her with headphones on was in first volume, on the roof. |
