THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER.

The series is interesting, and the kids working together to take on the wolves was really well done. That being said, I need an adult! Miura has been criticized in the past for creepy depictions of kids. I wish that was absent from this series. In the first chapter, I dismissed it, because it's obviously highly inspired by classic art... but it's a bit much in this chapter.

I didn't really find anything creepy about the kid depictions portrayed here myself, but I can definitely see how some may find it more disturbing than others. In some societies and cultures these kind of behaviors are normal and I think that was what Miura was going for, but I think that depicting this kind of thing in a manga is most commonly considered unacceptable. I'm curious to see how it will be received.

The plot predictably built towards a scene where the MC was revealed naked in front of the others confirming my suspicions about where the story is heading

this chapter was interesting to say the least, both in a good and wierd way. The reveal of Usums gender/ sex was prone to happen sooner than later, sure the scene was kinda wierd though.

I like the story and the world building so far, I like Usum, Pan and Kirta as characters, but none of them stand out to me. Pacing is kinda fast but I don't mind. I read that the story would only last for 2 chapters, but it doesn't seem that way. I would really like for this series to continue. Does anyone know when chapters release?

Volumes of Young Animal Zero release on the 9th of odd-numbered months, according to their website. Many manga magazines take a break for January (holiday), but since it's bi-monthly, I imagine the next chapter will be on January 9th.

OK, I think it is still too soon to judge whether or not the manga is going to be great, but I am loving the story build-up so far. It seems like we are into something really special. From the first 3 chapters, I think this is going to be a long-running manga.
I am looking forward to reading more!

That was a great adventure build up if you ask me, and their interactions were so genuine and interesting to see. Also, Usum is a really oneiric and beautiful character, I'm looking forward to read more of it

They've dealt with their first real threats in a really cool way and cleverly prevented themselves from turning into wolf food by working together~

I also liked this chapter even though I was a bit weirded out by the hot spring scene at first. I'm not really used to seeing things like that now but I can understand and relate to their interactions when I reminisce my childhood. They're just kids being kids, curious about all sorts of things while having that innocent view of life which is actually really sweet. The most important part of this was Usum finding people she can be comfortable with regardless of their differences and that's great. I can't blame Kirta for still blushing though lmao

I don't think that wet crossbows covered in mud could be that much effective as they were against the wolfpack, but whatever. It was fun to read and see the whole gang cooperating with each other in a creative way, and - of course - end up victorious.

I'm worried about Usum's trip to the village. Grown-ups, jealous of youth managing to hunt a big game once again, can be irritated a little. On top of that, I don't know how they will react to a newcomer who unconditionally provided newly met said youth with new, really powerful weapons.
