Why do some people hate Fujiko?

It may be "her job", as you say, but her job doesn't have to include constantly disrespecting Lupin throughout the majority of 50 years of anime, making Lupin look like a fool every time.

Lupin outsmarts her half the time and there's no more development in Part 1 than any other Lupin anime. The only reason it might seem like there is is because the characters actually had to meet and form their relationships first. Hell, for the first few episodes Fujiko wasn't even the same character every time, just a new love interest for a Lupin with the same name as an ongoing gag. Eventually they just decided to make her the same character. Also, you're really selling her character in the spin off series short.

Well, going off season 1 & a few movies I've seen, there's a LOT of reason to hate her.

1)Men hate her because she's a manizer, a gold digger, & a thot. Every third bad guy in season 1 was an ex boyfriend.

2)All of her old boyfriends either end up dead by her own hand, or get dragged into situations where someone kills them off for her. If Lupin ever died, it would probably be her fault.

3)She lies to, steals from, & backstabs her friends on a daily basis.

4)She is always making stupid decisions that put her in a hostage situation where the guys have to put their lives on the line to save her.

5)Fujoshis & gay men hate her because she's a woman in a series with a mostly all-male cast. She is the biggest cockblock in any ship. The most popular ship being Lupin with Jigen.

6)She is basically a female clone of Lupin himself; a polyamourous flirtatious thief & master of disguise who loses or breaks the stolen item in the end.

7)Women hate her because she's a shitty friend & a badly written damsel in distress who faints a lot & is just there to juggle her tits around for filler. She is either viewed as being too incompetent to be a decent Girl Power role model because of her reliance on men, or her methods are deemed to distasteful because of how sexualized she is.

8)She & Lupin are destined to cheat on eachother for all eternity. There relationship will never go anywhere because neither can commit.

9)She's painfully formulaic, so she would have been better off used sparingly for cameos. But she is in every episode.

10)She kills the bromance. Instead of being a silly adventure about three friends, it's one man running off to save her sorry ass while the other two reluctantly follow. Basically, she feels like a Mary Sue character who becomes this black hole attention center of every storyline.

1. She's a attractive female rival thief of course she's supposed to be seductive,selfish and deadly.

4. It's from the 60's so of course that will happen.
5. Lupin is aimed at heterosexual teens not homosexuals (they can still enjoy it and watch it).

7. It's a 60's franchise so of course there's going to be that cliche a lot at times and stuff like that. Also at least she's 10x better than Malty from Shield Hero.
8. They're rivals. That's the main point!
9. Again of what I said in 4 and 7 and she's supposed to appear almost everytime as she's one of the main icons of the franchise. And for formulaic part Lupin franchise isn't usually focused on a Berserk,One Piece nor Trigun quality story as it's stories are supposed to mostly be episodic,comedic and randomly adventurous.
