Do you think Stateligh is officially ending Symphogear franchise?
Or maybe you think they want to try something else like a movie or a whole new generation anime?

Personally I think this is it for the main cast, which saddens me greatly.
But I have a feeling that we may get something more from Symphogear universe in the future.

There’s still the Symphogear Live concert around the corner. That’s where they reveal and/or tease future projects for the series. Hopefully we might get a season 6, or at least a new cast to go with a new story because this franchise is hella profitable in Japan right now. Still, it’s sad to see the franchise end. I’ve had some nice memories with it ever since I started from season 1 this past summer.

Considering how profitable the franchise it, I really doubt the series is going to end for good. They may make another series featuring a different cast, but they are definitely going to keep it alive until Japanese fans get tired of it (and that is not going to happen for a long time).

I just hope that if they make a new anime series they keep Nana Mizuki for the openings even if Tsubasa doesn't appears.

From what I've heard, this series financially profitable i wish it does continue. From what i've heard it's not the level of Kamen Rider, Precure, Yu-GI-Oh in terms of multi generations cus it's only original cast. Symphogear Live concert around the corner and might tease us a trailer for a new cast just like Precure and Yugioh to make the series go on. But this doesn't mean Ono Katsumi will return since YGO needs a strong director atm for ygo 7 to finally make the show like 5d's in terms of quality.

I will think for new cast in 2021 will debut just a theory, but as for who directs it, i doubt it will be Ono cus tho shows will be a problem. But he does love Symphogear and maybe one season will do fine. I heard his 5D'S anime was liked by both western and japans fans, but his arc-v anime was hated by both only to get mixed reviews.

New generation anime for Symphogear sounds good and having their own universe sounds good to me.

The only reason Symphogear came out late was because the era was changing and 2012 was brand new year for anime

Symphogear ending with 5 seasons after 7 years feels like a letdown cus i doubt will ever see a good magical girl anime atm. I don't care for Madoka or Sailor Moon cus both of those are just hella bland and stupid.

Definitely had a lot of strength for a final season. I just wish it got more fans to love it, since it's underrated and ''It's not Madoka'' bullshit speach. Just like how people never gave YGO a chance after GX, I will never give DM and GX a chance for their shows to be callled the best.

That's a possibility. I been thinking on how Symphogear ending with 5 seasons sounds pretty sad. It was one of the most underrated animes in history since fans never gave Season 1 a chance. I never remember this stuff cus i really forgot about this show since no one was trending it. But when Season 2 and 3 were announced after i finished Doki Doki Precure and YGO Zexal, but hated ARC-V during Season 3 i decide to go back. Also, this was a gap between 2013-2016 cus i think 2013 i've seen season 2 and rewatched in 2014. Sames goes to season 3, but haven't seen AXZ till 2018.

Still, it’s sad to see the franchise end. I’ve had some nice memories with it ever since I started from season 1 this past summer.

Just wish it had the level of generations as:
Yu-Gi-Oh, Precure, Kamen Rider, Super Sentai, Power Rangers, Glitter Force, Digimon and Beyblade because those series with multi generations are still ongoing and doudt will end any time in the future since fans love the characters, design and of course the toys.

I'm glad you brought that up. While I highly doubt they'll announce another TV season, cause they DID say XV would be the final one, the possibility of a movie or OVA series is very much prevalent, imo.

Underrated? Hum... i guess to each his own... While seeing the rating for this series, i personnaly believe it is WAY OVERrated (i rated it mostly 6 to 7). But when reading you and the series you mention, i guess we may not be the same generation.

While i liked the first episode of the first season (which did not hesitate to touch serious topics and bring some sort of light drama in it, which is rare in a shounen), i always felt that the series went cliché and bland pretty fast afterwards. Worse and worse episode by episode for 4 seasons. In season 4 (which i almost dropped), they even introduced the power of love. I hadn't see it brought so shamelessly in anime for years... It was fresh 20 years ago for me, it's not anymore. I don't know if i will even bother with this fifth season.

But i will agree regarding the fact that i like actual sagas that lasts for long and have many things to tell. The problem with Symphogear, is that it does not last for 5 seasons because they have lots to tell. Just because it sells, they rince and repeat the same thing over and over ad nauseam. Aside from the very first episode, i can hardly remember anything, even though i watched it several times (because i always forget all about it immediately, and have to rewatch past seasons when a new one comes out). I'm not sure i could sit through the season 1 - 4 once more.

I guess the reason the ratings are higher and higher is because most of those who believe Symphogear is bland wouldn't bother to watch it this far, and only true fans would rate the 5th season. That's why the ratings for series with more than one or 2 seasons are utterly biased starting season 3.

Honestly I feel like there might be a movie or 6th season since well why give miku a faust robe if they just going to end the season there? Remember the scene where Adam talks about how he want to become an equal to that of the anunnaki. There were 5 figures of light shown above his head. Two behind his horns and 3 in between. Two of the 5 custodians were shown and there happen to be three left.

Following how each season after the 1st, the pattern for fights were season 2 has three antagonists, season 3 had 4 villains, season 4 had 3 villians, then season 5 has 4 that the main cast has to fight then followed by the main villain of the season. The anunnaki are based on the real life versions and well there just happen to be a anunnaki who governs the rest of them called Sin who is also known as a moon god.

What if the Advent of the anunnaki Adam was talking about wasn’t shem-ha but instead it was a different anunakki. It’ll be an awesome test for the symphogear wielders to face since well they represent Valkyries who are also known as messengers of love. If there is going to be a sequel/movie it’s probably going to be about the symphogears going into adulthood while facing the next anunnaki threat. They’ll probably have to face inanna/ishtar and utu/shamash both children of sin in the actual mythology. Utu who is a god of justice and inanna who is a goddess that taken over other deities territories both are enforcers of Justice.

Since this is an original anime, there is always possibility for prequel or spinoff.

This series shares most pros and cons with SAO. Bland, Mary Sue protagonist, mediocre writing, but amazing visuals and frequent, high octane action. I'm not saying that this is bad, because to each their own.
SAO became popular because of the amazing 1st impression, but quickly went downhill. If Symphogear would also leave amazing 1st impression and became popular, it would be infamous and elitists would bash on it for spot, which would result in a lot of negativity connoted with the series. That's for certain.
But, unfortunately it was so-so from the start and quite repetitive, because every season asides from the 1st you had one big bad and 3 henchmen, eventually big bad tries to f*ck them over once they exhaust their use, so they join Hibiki and the rest. Sometimes even big bad has change of mind.
People don't like this trope and would point it out, because it became repetitive and expectable.
With that being said, I think it would be better if this series remained niche and already received plenty of content, so we all should be satisfied. Anyway, this is just my theory/opinion.

I agree with everything. The first 4 seasons take the exact same narrative structure and rince and repeat, as i said. SAO, to me, was good in the beginning because it was one of the first isekai. It was pretty new, with good production value. And it was a shônen which introduced a romance, which was so damn rare. At the time we were used to things like "Bleach" where romance are hinted but never shown, as if the authors never dared to mix genres. SAO dared. And it did it right. Asuna was a pretty perfect waifu at the time. Starting from the 2nd half of the 1st season, SAO revealed itself as being no more than a off-the-mill shônen. The author tried to use the relation Kirito-Asuna again, but he only managed that by procrastinating their actual meeting in real life. He doesn't have anything to tell about them, in the end. And i dropped S2. It became just one more shônen.

To me, Symphogear is quite different. Aside from the 1st episode, there was never anything in the series that tried to build fundations for anything. Starting from episode 2, they merely started to teach us their recipe. A new one. But a recipe that would be cooked for us 5 times over in a row. Overcooked even.
