Manga reader here. As to your question not really...? I haven't read the light novels personally, but according to the people who have read the light novels there's no harem whatsoever so I don't even know why it's classified as such.
Probably because a lot of the characters are girls (it makes sense since the story is based around Merida). Also the only ''romance'' is between Kufa and Merida which takes 10 volumes to develop. And in case someone points it out, because OF COURSE someone will, Kufa isn't an adult.

It isn't stated but he's probably between 17-19. It's hinted that he's quite young though.

I truly hope that there is no harem!!! I am yet to find an anime that is soo good that I would be able to disregard my natural disgust for harem to watch it.
