This is rathe thrilling. We got the characters working their way to solve jigsaw puzzles and break passwords. In between all the tense moments, there are still some room for comedy.

I imagine the stakes will be raised even further in the final episodes. Perhaps we may be getting the ultimate game.

Alpaca guy is a mysterious guy. He helped Yuzu in solving the jigsaw puzzle. And thanks to that Onigasaki was able to leave the white room.

Pretty good episode overall.

This episode was probably one of the worst of the series. Nothing happened, the plot just get more and more complex and the characters more and more difficult to understand.

I don't really understand where the plot want to bring us. There is only 2 episodes left and nothing really hapened, we don't know more about the llama. Everyone seems to find the situation normal, even the ones hidden in the underground since years.
And on top of that the character's behaviour change too much in too little time.

I have to admit that i have a hard time getting character's personalities, except for anya and iride. I feel like often the animators or the author want to make a beautiful scene between two characters but it doesn't really fit the situation or what we saw of them in the previous episodes.

Every time something is thrown in our faces and one or two eisodes later it is like it never happened, nothing is developped, nothing change despite the events. We have too many subplots inside the main plot (wich is not clear neither).

So except if the author is a genius, i don't see how the story could end with a good and logical end in two episodes. Or maybe a second season would be needed, but when i see the score of the anime i doubt it would be very profitable for the productor.

So wait and see, maybe it is one of those animes wich will never have a next part.

Have to mostly agree on that ngl.

Suddenly Yuzu is on alpaca's side and minutes later she falls for Kai.. Or at least it seemed like it- She really seemed like a weak controlled girl instead of the Kuu-/Yandere that she was previously

Alpaca probably helped because he wanted to know about onigasaki's disappearance but... It just doesn't really fit.. As if he doesn't know about the dropouts.

The subplot with the dropouts now, especially Sakura and the glasses guy's partner... If the show would've been shorter and simply focused on the Main Game with some romance it would've been better imo

Don't know if I'd wait for 2nd season or rather just read the source material. If 2nd season comes at some point I'd most likely need to rewatch this

Too bad this was one of those episodes where we get more questions than answers. Oh well Alpaca proved his point, good for him? But I wonder if Yuzu would have solved the puzzle if he didn't help..

At this point my original hypothesis fell apart as the series seems to be twice as complex as I thought it to be, initially. I do not mind the complexity and subplots... but it is done in the classic way, when they refuse to properly discuss information, which logically would shorten the whole thing. Alpaca helped Yuzu because he wants to keep the game going, for whatever reason. He does not mind dropouts since they do not interfere with the game itself, they exist in a parallel manner. There were more games in the past and more people, some of which are alluded to being missing. We got mutated monster fish with human face-marks which is, like, post-apocalypse? Or a dystopia? Is it real?? The truth is out there. Clearly the authors are either geniuses or this is an another case of too much originality and little experience to properly appropriate it.

You do have a point in some regards.
I do agree that this was one of the least-engaging episodes of the series, but not necessarily "bad".
I just think it was jarring how pretty much every previous episode has had some lighthearted elements while this one was 100% serious.
But I'm not expecting a solid ending though. The source material isn't finished as far as I'm aware anyways.
Nevertheless, a show's score has no impact on whether a sequel will begin production. It all depends on the sales of the series.
All in all though, I think this series gets a lot more criticism than it deserves.

Little upsetting that Sakura doesn't want to see her brother just yet, but at least she got to hear his voice and that was enough for now.

Roro episodes are always good episodes imo.

That was really cold of Sakura to choose those guys than her brother, it was more like she chose Nanami than him.

That gold fish was cute!

Sad that Iride got hardly any scenes.

It was funny how the characters were humming the op song after Onigasaki returned.

Was that mushroom on Oshigiri's head a dirty joke?

This anime randomly gives us Shounen-ai and Shoujo-ai moments, and they are my second favourite part about this anime. (My absolute favourite part is Iride.)

Ooh not a mermaid, but a goldfish. OK...

More puzzle solving shenanigans that seem to drag the hell out for too long.

Well, at least Onigasaki is back, he probably won't tell Oshigiri that Sakura is still alive.

Well, more about Roro and her Paka Recorder stuff, which when you think about it, has more questions than answers.

Welp, with 2 more episodes to go, I feel like we're still far from any resolution.

Basically its confirmed that Yuzu is not just a player in the game but is a spy working with Mr Alpaca. Her personality is just a façade.

Does anyone know why the mushroom thing sprouted on Oshigiri's head after holding hands with Kaikoku?

This episode really disappointed me. Just knowing that Zakura will never meet his sister, the only reason he came into the game in the first place, just made me want to stop watching the entire show and ruined the rest of the episode for me. I feel so robbed of seeing those two reunite. It's already hard to connect with most of the characters and now this.

The Ones Within delivers yet another fine episode! As our merry band of gamers try to solve the puzzle, Kaikoku gets to know his new allies better, especially Sakura. This episode was fairly character-centric, with exploration for the Oshigiri siblings and Yuzu's role as a record keeper for Paka. Speaking of Paka, what does he want from the gamers? Why does he help them every once in a while? I don't think we're getting answers from him anytime soon.

I have to say, the best part of the episode was Sakura's decision not to see her brother again. It would have been more emotionally fulfilling to let the two sibilings see each other again, but considering how difficult the games have been, I think Sakura thinks that Zakuro will prioritize her safety over the rest of his team, and considering what Kaikoku has seen of Zakuro, she may have a point. I also liked that, for now, Kaikoku and Yuzu agree to a truce, knowing they have bigger things to worry about. Even if they aren't the best of friends, it's good to see that they have gotten to know each other a bit better.

The best thing about this show is the character writing, with the gaming activities a close second. The Ones Within is very good at leaving viewers wanting for me and I can't wait to see what happens next.

Well that sort of takes care of one mystery about Yuzu, now the thing about the picture of I presume her and Akki is still unkown

Don't think they can wrap this up in the last few episodes, so curious to see what is next.
