Watch Senki Zesshou Symphogear. It's worth it to watch from the beginning, if you watch 6 or 7 episodes a day, you'll be caught up in no time, as each season is only 13 episodes

lol, i usually watch around 30 episodes a day so...

It's worth. First season is bad but it gets better with second season.

Absolutely, but it probably depends on your taste and endurance. Most people say, the first season has its problems and lower animation quality, but as a long time fan, I really came to appreciate it later on. From the second season the series finds what it wants to do throughout the rest of the run, so should try to watch at least the first two. Third season has some storytelling problems, but season 5 so far has been nothing but a gigantic payoff for everyone who likes the series.

If singing, dancing, fighting, dress breaks/transformations, and yuri ships click for you even when mashed up into one crazy concoction like this show, then yea, you’ll love it. Especially when it’s honest with itself and goes over-the-top with the entire showcasing.

I honestly thought that I was not going to like it, but the first episode of the first season had me hooked and I have been addicted since. It's certainly worth giving a shot!

I had a bad time during the beginning but after some episodes (and specially from season 2 on wards) I started catch up in what's what makes it entertaining.
It's one of those sit-and-watch shows, don't put too much thought into it.

I actually kinda like the first season and would put it in my top three seasons of the series(full list is still undecided). The animation isn't as consistent as the others, there are a few contrivances, and a good amount of continuity errors, but I find myself loving it despite that

I watched 4 and a half seasons. I am qualified enough to provide to the discussion. OP asks if its worth it, and if he can just skip parts. I told him that he can not. He has to suffer through all of them. And imo, it isn't worth it. It is up to him to decide after all. Too much positivity could create false expectations.

All the seasons where all very fun to watch.
If you can explain why you are saying those things, Then i would be very happy.

I dislike the overall progression of the series. S1 was alright, dark and dramatic. G threw that out of the window, to become over the top craziness (I kinda wasn't into the whole idea), it kinda worked. GX was bad. Writers had no idea what they were doing. Hibiki's character was made unlikable in favor for Maria to get the spotlight. They tried to flesh out 5 characters in a psan of 5 episodes. Carol was the worst vilian the series ever had. So they brought back *SPOILER*. Overall a mess. AXZ was same like G. Overall really disappointing. Nothing lived up to the promise s1 showed. Instead, series became a joke. But OP if all you want is crazy mindless action, you will have a blast.

for me symphogear songs are one of the best songs in anime.
There are some who i don't really like but overall very good( i play symphogear XDU thus having the chance to listen to all songs).
I didn't really mind the writing of GX, about Carol and Hibiki's father, and that is beacause i really like Hibiki, and because i enjoy seeing her hurt, like with happened in AXZ, i Just enjoy seeing the MC of magical girls shows getting Hurt, but not Every magical girl.
And that is a factor why i enjoy symphogear. The action is also really dope and fun, and there is literally no anime like symphogear(there are certainly some troupés, but it knows what it is), thus being super unique.

Interesting, I did not know that the series launched the careers of the two, and I really had to look it up to see that Minase Inori corresponded to Carol. I guess that the career of Mizuki Nana did not really need Symphogear.

Otherwise, to come back to the main topic, I share a similar view with TheChaika. For example, as it was discussed in a previous thread, the villains and the general plot (quite repetitive, with villains having always the good intentions) are relatively weak points of the series. The animation in the beginning is OK, but nothing out of the ordinary. But most of the songs are really good, and I personally keep listening to the ones of Tsubasa and Kanade in particular. I actually started to watch this series because of lack of ideas, and I think that it is more a curiosity than a must-watch. Finally, the pattern of fights is very similar to an average shounen with power-ups again and again (just at the right moment).

It is however overall relatively enjoyable in the first seasons (I have not started Season 5 yet, but even if it was extremely good and the first seasons awful, one should not waste 18.4 hours to watch it...).
