A falconry contest? That was short but kinda cool. I want to see more of Nobunaga's falconry skills in this show tbh.

Seems this anime has a thing for traitors. Certain characters shouldn't be trusted.

Historical references :

- The Imagawa were a notable feudal clan that desired control of Mikawa province (today's east Aichi prefecture). The Oda clan also claimed influence over Mikawa and had to hold back their advances.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mikawa_Province

- Unlike the anime's depicting Nobunaga's absence from his father's funeral, certain historical sources say he attended; but came late, dressed inappropriately, and threw incense at the prayer altar.
Regardless, it lowered the retainers' opinions of Nobunaga "The Fool" as successor of the Oda, and chose to instead back the more conventional Nobukatsu.

- Toshiie Maeda/Inuchiyo would go on to become one of Nobunaga's leading generals.

The episode of "When Studio Deen actually tries, they try their best or fail hard." And this episode shocks me unsurprisingly at how good this episode is in its set-up.

To Young Oda Nobunaga, his simplistic Scatterbrain mind can only comprehend the reputation that stems down from his deceased dad (Nobuhide) and his followers of loyalty. Too bad that as is with the case of war, even loyals will get tired of it to the point of rebellion.

And his aides must help to come to the rescue for Young Nobunaga to realize that the abundance of traitors will never cease. And the brief history lesson is what only true history can tell, if loosely at best.

No expectations, hoping to see what's coming.

And so begins the many betrayals that Nobunaga faced in his life as a warlord! Of course, from here on the betrayals get worse and to be honest this is probably a bug reason that he was perceived as such a cold person.

Maeda Toshiie (Inuchiyo) has been introduced so i'm hoping that means Hideyoshi Toyotomi will be introduced soon too, what with he and Maeda having met during in childhood in their service to Nobunaga!

Man i could literally talk about the sengoku period forever haha

Thanks @phil2288 for the mentioning of the historical references. I already suspected the thing with the funeral being something they took from real history to explain why the retainers didn't want to support him. Did not know the exact stuff that happened historically which you explained.

Inuchiyo is pretty common thing though - at least for people that have watched a few samurai anime and other stuff already.

So far I like the anime. They seem to keep the clothing style of Nobunaga (showing bare chest) - but the plot is okay and doesn't feel like they want to bait Otome game fans that much since the girl doesn't get major focus.

I am starting to like Kichou tbh. The plot has been unraveling kinda slowly for me. not much is going on in each episode nonetheless i'm looking forward to the next one.

Kichou is really loyal to Nobunaga!

I must say this was a very fast episode, from his father's death to traitors getting away with information! Can't wait for the war, if it's going to happen though.

Betrayal, disappointment ... we'll see a lot of that in this anime. Poor Nobunaga, he realized that blindly trusting someone is a danger. I don't know anything about his story, but I hope none of his friends betray him in this war that has begun.

It seems that it has started to rain ...
"The destiny of humans is to die, but what we achieve in life takes shape and remains, going on to posterity."

I like this anime.

Ps: I know that Kichou was a woman, but this anime makes me doubt a little 😅.
By the way, what happened to Nobunaga's younger sister?

Very good episode even if some of the scenes do feel quite rushed.

I really don't get why people are doubting that she is anything but female.
She has small boobs, but that is not uncommon.
And I know there was the comment by Nobunaga, saying she was a he. But i think that was translation error. I got the feeling that she seemed more like an unladylike tomboy to him: therefore he was not attracted to her as he might a normal woman...
Other than that I haven't seen anything to suggest that she was male in the anime. I even remember her father calling her his daughter out loud and in his thoughts/or when no one was around.

Having a wife as ninja sure is handy, Ikeda really helps oda to great lengths even going after the traitors but I have this eerie feeling that something may happen to Ikeda
