A good start to this episode And we even have some Yuri elements witch is always nice to see, But sadly it goes more for drama and other elements it handles poorly!!!!!. | This episode is mostly about Sotoka and Bocchi. Bocchi always teach anything about Ninja to Sotoka, I think that's how the dilemma appears, glad they become friend in the end. Another Aru's unluck scene with that cotton candy, and "Aruaruaru" scene made me laugh, even she misheard Nako's "Zannen" word :D. About Kai and her weird rule, I think there is a scene where Aru say it's not make sense to befriend with all student in class, but then Nako explain why it's necessary to do. Oh, and is anybody notice another pun name ? Onaka Peko ? |
| I can understand Bocchi being somewhat awkward with these things like not adding *chan* to someone and uses *san* instead as a sign of when they become friends is the time she adds it as she isn't used to it but Sotca is one weird girl, can't really relate to her or feel for her at all. Was surprised with Aru having Kai's number, didn't expect that, and at the same time I'm glad they did as Aru can bring Kai up to speed with whats happening with Bocchi since obviously she's concerned for her to a great degree, even made a wish not for her but for Bocchi and on the upside Bocchi also made a wish not for her but for both her and Kai. Bocchi's friend count rose by 2, them pancake friends! technically 3 since for some reason Sotca and Bocchi just became friends now when initially I thought they were already friends after the whole ninja practice thing. I wonder when Bocchi and Kurai will be friends, hopefully before the season ends, I ain't counting on a season 2, I want one, but I know its almost impossible to get it. "This is the first time someone asked me to be friends with them" This... got me... this show from time to time fucks with my feelings. | Bocchi got the year off to a great start when she encountered Peko and Ito at the shrine and asked the two girls from the cooking class from the last episode to become her friend. Happily, both girls accepted Bocchi's request and the three of them are getting along well with each other. It did lead to a funny moment when school resumed, as Bocchi said hello to the duo by calling them Peko-chan and Ito-chan. This left Sokota is a panic (hilarious reaction on her face XD) and she went to Aru for help......by shaking her half to death while calling her name over and over again! ^_^ Sokota really wanted to be called with "chan" at the end of her name by Bocchi, rather than "san", although she was unsure about being Bocchi's proper friend because she of the whole master/apprentice thing between them. Thankfully, Nako and Aru were able to help both Sokota and Bocchi to get closer and left it to the two girls be finally become friends, with Sokota being the first person to ask Bocchi to become her friend. =) Another great episode filled with funny and heart-warming moments as usual. Only two episodes left now... |
| Probably one of the best episodes of the show so far, a perfect balance between the show's usual comedic hijinks and some actual development, with Bocchi befriending the two girls from the cooking class, and with Sotoka finally asking to be her friend. I still kinda think Sotoka's thing about being Bocchi's apprentice was kinda dumb, but this resolution of sorts was handled so well that I can't complain too much. |
| My heart.... It cannot take any more... God that was such a sweet episode, it was the first time someone asked to be Bocchi's friend and dear lord that line got me. Aside from that though, the comedy as always is on point. The cotton candy landing back on Aru's phone cracked me up. |

| Love Bocchi's hairstyle during new years! Love how they stylize her, how expressive the character's faces get & the various outfits they get drawn in. From Bocchi's perspective the situation between her and Sotoka-chan feels very reasonable consider how early on she didn't consider Nako as a friend until it was official said & the way she initially misunderstands Aru's "yes" as not wanting to be friends. I enjoyed Sotoka-chan since her introduction but only considered her a side chara until the episode it's revealed she lives alone. The scene felt so gloomy and considering how serious the anime can get it makes me reeeally wonder if her strong wish to become a ninja is to counter a dark theme about her. Sadly I couldn't come up with a reason based on what has happened so far. Only thing for sure is that she feels lonely because classmates keep their distance due to how brightly she shines & since she doesn't have a family to return home to afterschool. |
