seem's like no one are reading this amazing manga |
Done by the same guy that did Usogui as well. Surprising to see this isn't getting more attention. |
I agree, probably cuz of the art style, many ppl find it "weird"... but putting this aside is a good manga, I really wish it receive more attention |
I don’t understand, the art is good |
i started to read today! i'm loving |
I really like it so far, it is sad to see it not getting attention. |
I really do love the art in this manga. I don't see why it isn't popular |
Is this manga good? I found it by chance and was interested by the fact that it involves Capoeira, which is a Brazilian martial-art and, as a Brazilian myself, I became quite curious as to how they’d portray it. |
@Seipps As a reader what i understood is; author himself practiced Capoeira before and even added his mestre as a character in the manga. Also manga explains the origin and the history of Capoeira both as an expression and as a martial art while explaining the music and the instrument called Berimbau. I discovered several Capoeira music through this manga. Apart from it, the manga revolves around a girl named Ichiri who loves Capoeira but has to perform it as a martial art (by reasons that i am not gonna explain because it is a spoiler). Story takes place in Japan but it is hinted that it may reach Brasil in the future. This is my take as a reader. I am not Brazilian though, so i don't know how accurate the part of the story about Brasil. |
Most of the Capoeira stuff is very well researched, pretty accurate. The portuguese sentences used are like 95% accurate. I've read everything and I'm loving it. I've met some Capoeira mestres before, and they're portrayed very well (like Mestre Amoroso, I know a mestre just like him). Also, all the songs are real, and the lyrics are very interesting. The best experience reading Batuque is with a playlist of Capoeira songs in the background. There are some on youtube. |

Im Brazilian, the history of tue capoeira used in the mangá e real, is kinda strange How much he knows of brazil(he uses things was i never know about brazil) |
Problem with this manga is that its kinda RUSH. After yusa the mma wannabe fight everything just get rush out. Not enough time to expand fully on each character. I guess japan has shit taste, also usogui which is one of the author work suffer such fate. Like clearly the story can be continued but nope BAM END. |
