| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Hmm interesting, we're getting more storytelling on Shizue Izawa as herself. This episode is really unique considering its own side story and the focus on a character that isn't Rimuru. I believe this takes place before Rimuru's entry into the story. Looks like we got adventurers being tasked to fight a resurrected demon. Heh, Shizu still reminds me of how badass she is. |

| When the series end without rimuru lol.. idk which part did they jumped on but this was interesting Overall i enjoyed the manga way better. Idk but the anime just feel lacking. The fight is so empty they cut here and there S2 is coming so yeah i’d still watch |

| Pretty cool episode for a side-sorry canon episode! Damn, I’m not exactly sure where these events of this episode lies in the timeline, other than it obviously being before the entry of our main character Rimuru into this world, but it was still a bloody cool episode! Excellent action choreography in particular during the first fight between Shizu and Diablo and the soundtracks totally delivered! Great backstory episode for Shizu-san too! Also, can’t wait to see more of this ‘Diablo’ higher demon. I didn’t expect him to take the initiative and get rid of those possessed and even go as far as to spare Shizu and pretty much save the town but that just makes his character even more mysterious. I wonder what this request for which he was summoned for in the first place was all about, I’m assuming it’s something along the lines of killing the ‘fake-King’ demon. Final few moments of the episode promise something eventful to come though, I suppose. Rimuru summoned Diablo, apparently accordingly to the monologue, so I’m really curious to know the context leading up to this. Guess we’ll just have to wait until the 2nd Season airs. |

I think Shizu already has Ifrit in this extra story. She did...Leon Cromwell bound Ifrit to her as soon as she was summoned, she would have been dead long before this incident if Ifrit hadn't been in control of her magical power. I have said all along a spinoff series about Shizu and her mentor Hero would probably be better than Rimuru's story, and IMO this is the best episode of all 24 which have aired to date. I assume that she and the dead guy with her were the "Silver Wings" and that she was summoning Black in order to get revenge on the Archdemon who tricked and betrayed them. |

| Well that was awesome. As much as Shizu contributed to the main story, there wasn't enough of her, but with this side story, we got a little glimpse of what she was like prior to Rimuru's coming. I hope they make more backstory side stories about Shizu. She's an amazing character and I want to see more of her! EDIT: I didn't fully watch the credits to the end when I posted above. Next episode is going to be awesome too! The Veldora's Journal parts of the manga were hilarious and just great additions to the story. |

| Most interesting episode in ages. A real sense of tension returns after having OP Rimuru win every single time with little effort. The stakes feel high here, knowing that the opponents can actually defeat you. |

| Diablo is a tough Demon, he doesn't seem too bad either to be honest. I really loved this episode centered around Shizu herself, before Rimuru was even in this world. Always appreciate more Shizu! |

Couldn’t get anymore cliche You missed the point, but I can hardly blame you because it can be easily missed due to... Crunchyroll mistranslating stuff ONCE AGAIN. The scene at the end of the episode where Kuro/Diablo says that "So the mask appears once again... so it's true!" or something along those lines? That's actually mistranslated. What he really says is "So the mask broke... so it's true!". That's very important. When Kuro/Diablo got repelled by Shizu's mask, he mentioned something about "infinity". But later when Ifrit went on a rampage, the mask actually broke and when Rimuru later repaired it, he didn't notice any sort of forcefield powers, so based on that we can say that that power got lost by the time Shizu ran into Rimuru and this Kuro/Diablo guy says that it's somehow linked to Rimuru himself. But the important part is that the mask was not only much more durable when Shizu, who got it from the Hero, used it, but it basically kept her alive until she ran into Rimuru, while Kuro/Diablo basically waited for the moment it went into Rimuru's hands, which implies that your claim that Shizu has "plot armor" is actually more on the mark than you might think, but not in a meta sense, but rather in a in-universe sense. |
