Dorothy is certainly an enigma. Even when elfed Luck fought against Vanessa and Magna, the cat actually cancel attack from both sides.

But Dorothy? The cat didn't even recognize her as a threat.

We finally get to see the sleepy captain's magic and it has to be while she's controlled by the enemy. Dream Magic sounds pretty interesting though.

Also, did Gauche seriously have his hand on Marie's ass? This siscon thing has just reached new levels of cringe.

People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

I do not like Dorothy being possessed. So many expectations on its magic and at the end when we finally sees for the first time is not even used by her .....

But it is a problem related to many characters of this arc IMHO, have not been investigated properly before the possession and in the end are quite inconsistent.

Dorothy went deeper first in order to make the reader interested in her.

They're not Gauche and Marie, but Droite and Ecra.

Maybe he will have the motivation behind him too.

The feeling I feel is similar to that of the fourth ninja war in Naruto, where Kishimoto had exploited the Edo Tensei to show characters previously mentioned but never deepened such as the Swordsmen of the Mist, the old kage, the former jinchuriki ..... but just to show (in many cases) without a real depth. It makes it very difficult to identify with readers.

As if in Marineford after so much hype about Akainu to fight was Guy Incognito who took possession of his body in short, not quite the same thing ....

Ok so this is how Dorothy being introduced. And Gauche's magic is now being used to support Patri's magic. How ironic considering it was once used to block one of Patri's attacks.

I add, I do not like much, the magic of Dorothy (or rather Reeves) it seems to me the classic OP power good to be used once and that's it. Perfect for a villain, but considering the role of Dorothy in the manga ..

Agreed. It's like the fight of Finral against his brother from a few chapters ago, it seemed like it was being presented as the climax in their relationship... but it's not actually his brother, so there just wasn't anything there for me on an emotional level. Looking past their flesh sacks, this last arc has just been endless battles against nameless elves we barely know, it's so hard to feel anything but apathy. Probably the weakest arc thus far, unfortunately.

The problem is not the elves, but the characters they possessed.

Most of them are unnamed, and those who knew have never been deepened that much.

As already said, to which to create so much hype on Dorothy if then the first time she fight is not her?

I know the elves supposedly reincarnated into people that had similar abilities to their old forms or personalities I guess but I'm honestly surprised by how many Captains were possessed. It's also easy to understand why Fuegoleon, Nozel and even Yami were not possessed because they are either royal or not from this land but why is every other captain except for Jack reincarnated. Why is Jack a special case.

Luck is also a commoner and he was reincarnated as an elf.

Awake Dorothy is super cursed. And being cursed has conflicting meaning in this series. So it's a matter of centuries now that she's awake, there must be a reason behind it. I love her design though, she looks faithful to the traditional witch trend we see in the mainstream media.
Just like that, it seems like our heavy fighters were taken away from the core battlefield, too bad I wanted to see more interaction between the Black Bulls and their individual comments on Noelle's power.
