Mission Overseer Request
Why a request:
Now that I've successfully finished making a request-mission, and now that my current mission is progressing, the first ideas for a new mission have already started to flow in. However, it is possibly even more ambitious than what I am working on now. As a result, it might take a fair bit of time and commitment from both sides involved.
What to expect:
- Non player characters. The idea that I have for this mission won't work without a fair amount of NPC's. All of those will need to be approved, and role-played with. While I will (most likely) be able to take care of the latter by myself (depending on when this mission will take place, and on whether the Overseer themselves wishes to participate as an NPC, which they would be more than welcome to do), approving them will probably be a fairly demanding task. I have a proven track record to be pretty awful with numbers, and those will definitely be involved.
- Maps. Thanks to Tuba, I've grown to like the usage of maps, and bought a program to make them. Now I need to learn how to use it and get my money out of it. Any admin with an interest in working with these is most welcome to give input.
- Balance. Due to the set-up, I think the idea I have will give a rather wide range of options with regards to balance and threat level, and some things might need a fair bit figuring out to work/be balanced. I don't think this mission will fit the box, so it'd be great if someone could help find a bigger one or join me outside of it, so to say.
- Teamwork. Unless there is an admin whom feels a calling to help me out with all of the above, I'm more than okay with splitting this all between three people, and get two other admins involved. Any more than that would become too much trouble to coordinate, and we might loose too many characters to participate.
Time-frame:
I am posting this early. This is mostly to prevent myself from making a lot of things before realising I can't possibly get it all approved without a giant admin army. Instead, my plan is to slowly build things up by finishing up bits and pieces whenever I can, and by getting them approved as we go. I will be busier during February 2018, so my ideal goal is to conduct this all during January 2018. However, even that might very well be too shortly timed, in which case I'm planning to simply finish as much up as I can before the start of February, and conducting it during the first downtime I'll have after that.
Closing statement:
This unorthodox and demanding approach I have in mind seems like it'll need an unorthodox and demanding way to get its overseers. If this is a task that nobody wishes to shoulders, I'd rather drop it altogether, as this feels like an all-or-none deal. That said, I'm looking forwards to seeing if there are admins willing to participate in this.
