After Lan Wangji threw the apple in the air in ep 2, everything that has happened so far are flashbacks! It's telling the past of when Wei Wuxian was still alive and in his own body. (In ep 1, Mo Xuanyu called forth Wei Wuxian's soul by sacrificing and offering his body in exchange. Mo wanted Wei to get revenge for him.) |

| Wait this was all a flashback? I thought MC was the reincarnated guy the whole time... This ep was pretty brutal though. I'm worried that he got branded right at the end there. |

You're faulting the score, when you're not able to follow along? I went in blind and if you pause and rewind a bit at parts you don't understand you'll get it. You have to pay attention as there's a large cast and factions kinda like how AoT has a large ensemble. |

Most watchers are novel readers I guess, but I can understand why you feel confused. Since ep 3 we are having a flashback arc, explaining the main char's relationship with other people (who would play a role in the main char's demise). There is no development of real story yet. Oh... any prediction of how many episodes more this way? |

Hmmm this season has 15 episodes and we have 6 eps left, I'm guessing that the flashback would last at least 3 more eps. Leaving 3 last episodes for the presence. The interview with the staff said that this season is mostly all flashback anw so I don't expect much, although I really want to see the presence 😭 Just to explain, this season covers main char's past when he still around 15,16. This part is important to explain his reason for becoming "evil", and his relationship with LWJ (blue guy) and JC (the purple guy) - who are closest to him and play large role in main char's development. I'm not sure they will cover the flashback when he is 20 and becomes "evil" and all in this season, but I don't think so since it would be a big spoiler? The real story will be related to the hand we saw in ep 1 and 2, and about revealing the secret of the past that lead main char to his downfall. Look's more interesting, good to know. |

I'm sorry if I misinterpreted what you said, but it seemed like you implied the score was undeserved simply because you found it confusing. Of course it's subjective, but as a donghua only viewer, I'm really enjoying it. It's the first show I've actually look forward to in a while. I expect my rating to be and 9 or 10 upon finishing. I watched the first two episodes first before reading the novel and it's definitely rather confusing, especially for me who's not used to hearing spoken chinese. They speak fast and the language generally packs more information per word when translated to english. Along with reading the many, many hard-to-pronounce names... well a lot of the obvious information shown just flew over my head. Like, I just found out after watching ep 4 that it's been flashback all along since ep 3, haha. Thanks to reading comments and for someone to spell it out it's a gddamn FLASHBACK to me XD. The fight scenes are great and I love watching it. But the whole time I thought it was the same guy from the first episode and that he was reincarnated and was concealing his identity from everyone else. |

I usually try watch the episode at 90/80% speed at VLC. |

| Finally starting to see some actual story, though I don't get why the other clans just let the Wen clan do what they want to do. I thought the clans were fairly equal to each other, don't think it was mentioned that the Wen clan is the most powerful or whatever. |
