Mm, I got some mixed feelings about the OP song. Might have to get used to it.

That little AI girl Aria is cute. I'm still rather confused on the story but is easy to get into the mood now with the way events are developing. The virtual reality stuff is still pretty evident. The way we see faces blurre out and the moving figures made this episode somewhat thrilling.

I wish I can get more invested into the characters though as that feels lacking at the moment.

Everything still looks flashy but shallow. Still not sure if I'll stick around for this series, but it's worth a few more episodes to decide

So it's that idol that is making those people go crazy. Aria is cute, but her voice is really annoying. It's not just him that can see those blurry faces. Still a bit confused.

Pretty interesting.

This series definitely has some interesting and unique themes to it, whether it's the psychological direction style or the mystery of the characters.
I think this series might not turn into a mess after all.

4/5 The end interested me.

Oh, interesting episode. It feels very clearly like a game adaptation (the cutesy floating guide, world boundaries, the main team against all the enemy ai) and this episode just laid out the mechanics and how the world works. It feels a little formulaic but the atmosphere is working to make me interested in the setting. I hope the characters are given the time to form, right now that's where the show's lacking.

Really good episode. we learned some stuff about the world and it was interesting that were 2 kind of people other than our are main group. cant w8 for the next episode.
Also the ending and that "border of the world" thing brought back memories of "The Thirteenth Floor" 1999
(worth checking out of course)

I think this episode gives more questions than answers. So-.. there are three types of people - monsters who hunt, main heroes who are being hunt and the third ones who don't give a flick. Also, it seems like this group called Ostinato Musicians is causing all this chaos among those who 'have realised'? With μ being their singing weapon or something? I don't really know, looking forward to see how this all turns out.

Hmmm, so MC, "you're not my mom" girl, male character C, and Busty have discovered the boundary of the Matrix, meanwhile braid girl and glasses food critic are still clueless but invariably bound to be drawn into it all... Overall a pretty tense episode, with a nice moment of levity in the introduction of chibi avatar girl (who turns out to be "help me" girl from last episode). I'm still really interested to see where this goes, and a bit more confident that it won't descend into awfulness :o I hope...

The OP's growing on me. So upbeat :D

For what's going on in the world itself, well, I guess I'll stick to find out. Pretty interesting.

That ED.. holy fu... it's very good! Like it very much, will be in my top 3 ED this season, if not the first.
But I feel I've heard a song (think it's an anime song, too..) that resembles this one somewhere sometime before, especially the tone around the intro of each verse.. (Sh*t, deja entendu it seems)

I think the characters that see. The money sera have problems of their own. So they got sucked into a virtual reality that would give them what they desired. The girl when she said she was searching for her mom. After being sucked in, the world gave her a mom. So now someone broke that world and is causing chaos so the characters are realizing they are not in the real world they are in the world created by the idol.

Hmm that was quite the opening. Catchy too. So those without powers are not noticed by the enemy then. Hmm to think that Shougo's partner was a doll though. But those two sure have an interesting relationship. Tomoe's explanation sure wasn't helpful to Suzuna. Maybe the way they see things now are different. So U's song is what's causing the people to transform then. An interesting episode that introduced more of the plot while also showing that besides the mc there are other survivors that managed to escape from the initial attack. The final scene though was really something. This world really has gone mad huh. Love the ending theme though.

Oh, so all that pretentious BS from last episode was for... what exactly? When the story is just about some girl creating a world and controlling people through music and some blokes don't hear whatever the fk part of the music controls them :|

Also, I wish the series would make up its bloody mind if it wants to be a thoughtful, 'psychological' anime or if it wants to be a simplistic action anime, rather than what it's doing atm, which is trying to be both and not pulling off either. ._-

Because everything that the protagonist mentions is connected to the plot, happiness is the reason why he never saw the truth and this is what he himself answers in that same episode.

Everything else will make sense when the plot progresses

It would be better without this babbling chibi, she's the reason I can't take it seriously. But the overall concept is not bad, the show might get more interesting later on but I'm not sure if I have patience for this.

That wasn't pretentious BS, the game's plot was filled with symbolism and the overall message of the story related to psychology. Also, since it's an adaptation of a JRPG game, it's going to have elements of heavy dialogue driven moments, and also lots of action. It's inevitably a mixture of both.

I think Aria's part is intentional. To have an intense episode throughout will be bad for mood progression, so Aria and Shogo's dumb (Yeah they are really dumb at explaining things) performance is OK, for me at least.

5/5.

But first of all, Caligula is a game adaptation, with roughly the same compression rate as Persona 5, so it is somewhat hard to predict the quality in the future.

Also, the anime is having constant issues with running or walking at a distance for some reason unknown.

This series has surprisingly good animation, especially for how detailed most of these character designs are, I was expecting much worse. Visuals are also quite stylish & engaging.

The insert songs used are also quite nice, but you can tell by the way they are implemented that this is a video game adaptation lol.

I still have no idea wtf is going on with this story, but it definitely has my attention with just how out-there it is. I just wished the main character wasn't so god damn dense and annoying for continually ignoring the only other character that can sympathize with his situation. You'd think that if a person saved your helpless a$$ two times in a row already, you could at least try to communicate with them, but nah, just run away without saying a word...

Let's just hope this series starts explaining stuff soon instead of raising more questions (because there are A LOT of 'em).

I still don't what exactly understand the story, but I'm slowly getting invested in the characters, particularly Ritsu, who desperately tries to make sense of what's going on. I have a feeling the characters are gonna do some wandering until they come together and have their moment of self-realization. Hopefully, the series will devote more time to character development and world-building, because it has a lot of potential and I'm starting to enjoy it.

i'm interested in seeing this i feel like it could turn out good but i'm constantly wanting them to explain what the hell is going on knowing that won't happen for a while , at least we know it is dealing with some form of cognition on what seemed to be a made up world? or is a real world were persona style the main characters are the only ones seeing the other side.

hoping the characters are good big draw of these games are the main cast.

Between this and Persona 5, Caligula has been the better adaptation so far, imo. I haven't played either game, so I say this as someone that's strictly anime-only. The scores on these shows need to be reversed.

GODZILLA'S APPROACHING THE GENERATOR!

This heavily reminds me of Persona 1 where a mind is used to make "the perfect world", and the few who are aware of the disturbance awaken their powers and fight against it. The world is mad...but maybe it's just mu or the person using mu who just wants to create that world. Hmm...

Aria's power, body, memory, and everything else floated off? Is this going to involve getting those traits back to Aria?

So the psychological statement here was about anxiety, irritation, and negative emotions spreading to others. Wait...that message that Shougo received from Narukonne about the commotion in the ceremony. So those who are aware of it will feel reassured that they weren't alone in seeing the Digiheads, but it doesn't make it any less disturbing...

So we have our 6 members. Shougo's the nuke gunner, Narukonne seems to be the Intel support, a guy who likes being a hero accompanied by some scaredy cat, a rather melancholic young lady looking for her mother, and our psychological MC Ritsu. If our team is outside the range of Mobius, are they safe? I'm definitely looking forward to see what happens when the party comes together and we get the gist of what's happening.

Next episode seems to be about existentialism. "Why do we live? The further we pursue the meaning of life, the more confused we become." Hehe, that describes this anime so far. The more answers that we get, the more questions that we start asking. I'm going to assume that the next episode will focus on the various character backgrounds.

Two episodes in and I'm still confused as fuck. So, they're living in like a Truman Show Island that they can't leave it? Hahaha. And it's virtual or some shit.

The only good thing I liked here was the OP. It was the shit.

3/5.

P.S. I love Shogo, though. Haha.

Then drop it? If you don't get it, you don't get it. In terms of Shogo's character and the actual things that happen, the way this is portrayed actually makes sense. Shogo isn't the type to know how to explain things, he's legit the most pathetic character, despite being shown to be a badass. As pathetic as he is, he wouldn't even know where to begin to describe anything that's happening.

Judging from the experience the MC had afterwards, it is hard for anyone to believe a world that he lived for one year and full of happiness is a fake one.
For example, when he left Shogo for the second time, he was trying to deceive himself by not saying the latter part of the last sentence in this episode.
