| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- This show looks like a lot of fun. I'm a big fan of the Slayers TV series so I'm totally loving all the seiyuu carry over and character similarities. Also, we get some Megumi OPs and EDs! (though not as memorable as some of the Slayers music) |
| Oh fuuu, a psi blade, this is even better than a lightsaber (also big Cobra reference). Really fun episode, great to have some of the cast of Slayers back, of course Hayashibara Megumi (Lina) as Canal, but also Ishimura Tomoko (Martina) as Milly. Hoshi Souichirou (Yukimura in Sengoku Basara) also does a good job as Kane. "My cape isn't lame. Oh, and I'm a man by the way." Shows what his priorities are. And Midorikawa Hikaru (Zelgadis) was also here, yay! (the police commander at the end). Colours are a bit on the dingy side compared to Slayers, but I guess it can't be helped, this is how people imagined space back then. |

| Between the Trouble Consultants Contractors (Dirty Pair) and the psi-blade (a lightsabre mixed with Cobra's psychogun), I don't think this will win any awards for originality. It's not even subtle about what it's copying, to the point that I feel like I've already seen this exact anime before. Here's hoping it improves with later episodes. |
