| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Wow, harsh! Little kid finds he lost everything and dies in despair and even the pretty stoic Haykkimaru is shaken to his core by the things he learns. That it has to be a floating demon who tells him is something of a deus ex machina but it's redeemed at least to some degree by the idea that the demons are deliberately telling him these things to hurt him; as he said, he'd rather not know. The loss of his second son is pretty grievous to Kagemitsu; he wants to be a ruler and he just lost his heir. What's he fighting for now? I liked this show from the start, but it's getting really good! |
| A pretty great finale for this first (and only?) three parts tale, featuring the whole family for a better tragedy. I liked the 9tails psychological attack and how it undermined Hyakkimaru. 5/5 |

| I am shook. I am watching this after seeing the 2019 version and so much happened, things that are wildly different from the 2019 version. Sukeroku, what 8 years???, went through the worst pain and died..... Please show have mercy on me. |

| This arc really was different from the remake. Can't believe Sukeroku died there. Not so much sympathy for Tahomaru who was really acting like a asshole in this version with how he belittled the crippled and the orphans. |

| Easily the best episode of this mini-arc. Dezaki's direction never disappoints. |
