RIP Hugenberch. I find him more likable after seeing the role he played as I had bad impressions of him initially.

So much development on this first mission. Reinhard and Kircheis' promotions were expected but it did came at a sacrifice.

This is a very simplified version. I'm afraid of what the new series will look like now.

Fine conclusion to this little mission. The "headshot" with a big cannon was far too much. ^^"

Compared to the novel it's based on? Or to the OAV adaptation? How? To wich extent?

Also, I doubt the new animated series will adapt Fujisaki's manga adaptation.

@U1111 Thank you, I just checked the youth OAVs 3&4 and what was "modified" was that the kids lured the subaltern and the colonel to them rather than let them come, the subaltern was a "nice guy", reluctant and repentant, (rather than the evil guy of the OAV) and revealed infos as excuse but was shot by the colonel who had came along. Then the colonel was killed the way the other guy dies in the OAV. "Suppressing" the whole subsequent part where the heroes keep winning over the Federation, the colonel comes to kill Reinhard himself and dies.
So, yeah, a case of compression I guess.

Sorry, I'd have to reread the manga to even know what exactly I was talking about, though, if memory serves, this was adapted in the first prequel OVA. I'm pretty sure we're talking about The Silver-White Valley, though no idea which part of it, except probably towards the end.
