Upa's Talisman

Does anybody know what exactly the reason for the talisman that Upa wears is, and what purpose it serves? I think i remember seeing something like it helps supress his ki or something, but I'm unable to find any information on the web whatsoever, and I can't remember which episode mentioned it.

The prison puts it on him to suppress his chi. They talk about it at the beginning of episode 16 (S2E3).

If you're talking about Thai Amulets, it has a strong meaning for the person who wears them. Such talismans protect from evil spirits, so it is worth always being in them. I also use them, but mostly when I go out in the street because I feel a lousy aura coming from passersby every time. I know that it may not sound brilliant, but I feel so and try to cope with it. Thai Amulets helped me with that, so I managed to solve some of those problems. Amulets are essential to the person who believes in them.
