| I don’t know whether it’s just the translation (I’m reading it in German), but the writing seems kinda… not good. It reminds me of these shitty Star Trek novels that I read for some reason. But it’s a short book so I’ll finish it anyway. |
| @cptlee39 It was very standard (boring/common?) writing in the french edition (Kana/Dargaud) too. Not something a professional writer would release in other words. That might come from the fact japanese prose isn't easy to translate efficiently or that our translators just gave a fast work (it's just merchandising "children litterature" after all). |

Yeah, that could be true. I actually didn't even consider that Japanese might be harder to translate, too. At least in the manga I've read so far they did a good job though, but it might be easier when it's only dialogue. But at least it isn't horrible. I've read stuff that was much worse and still could find some enjoyment in it. I also forgot to mention how hilarious those "English" names are. It wouldn't surprise me if the next victim is called Barry Bluejeans or something like that. :D |
| It's very interesting that this story centering Naomi and L was narrated by Mello of all people. What happened to Naomi later on was a shame since she had so many potential in handling the Kira Case but her greatness will finally be demonstrated here! Obata's strange way of naming Americans is here in all its glory too~ Imagining L crawling out of a bed like that's really funny. |

though i read already that L was under the bad all the chapter, it was still pretty surprising how they did iit. |
