I've seen these FMA novels around - Viz seem to have released them over here. I was wondering if anyone has read them and can recommend them?

I just finished the anime recently, and now I'm reading the manga. I'm not sure if I'll read the novels, but it'd be interesting since I've never read a novel relating to anime before. It's definitely a possibility that I may read them for this reason.

I've read the first two before. The first one, FMA: The Land of Sand, is just a retelling of the episodes with the Tringham brothers and their study of the philosopher stone. I'd recommend the second one, FMA: The Abducted Alchemist, because it's an original story and features a lot of Roy and Ed working together against terrorists.

I've read all of the ones that have come out so far. Though it has been a while since I last read them. ^_^;

As shinigami_san wrote, the episodes where the Tringham Brothers met the Elric brothers are based off of the first novel, "The Land of Sand". I thought it was pretty good, and enjoyed the parts that weren't in the anime.

I'd recommend the second novel too. If I remember right, I think it was my favorite. XD There were a lot of great moments in it. ^_^

I also really enjoyed "Under the Faraway Sun", I thought the main story was interesting and mainly revolved around Ed and an old friend from Resembool. The extra story in the novel was pretty entertaining too. It involves Roy, Hughes, and Armstrong on a holiday. ^_^

I thought all the novels had moments in them that made them interesting to read. (I enjoyed reading them all) But if I had to go with one to recommend first, I'd recommend the second one, "The Abducted Alchemist". I hope this helped! ^_^

*edit* Ah, now that I look at it, this topic was from a while ago..XD Ah well, either way, hope it helps someone out. ^_^
