Well A lot of subtle clues was thrown around into the movie.

When Holland said he and the rest had saw a blue planet with shining green ring around it, you can see Eureka and Renton's name carved into the moon.

And near the end when we see the Eureka's kids Maurice and the other two all grown up when the beam was fired. Which another scene was shown when Alex Thurston (Renton's Grandad) with Eureka's kids praying at the green aura (exact scene in the last episode of the TV series).
