More of a training episode. Pacing feels steady and digging holes does build character and stamina on the beach.

That bro talk was kinda entertaining I guess between Gion and Etsugo. Saw a little bit of his past too. I love how Gion declare his intention to become the strongest because people often view him more of as an underdog with his height.

For those wondering, they adapted up to chapter 23 (to the end). Pretty intimidating ending there.

Pretty good episode, Nice training montage.

Oharano plays for his brother eh? Wonder if his brother quit rugby or something. I liked the little sand spraying battle he and Gion had.
Glad to see the Jinko boys ready to put in more hours to train.

Ryoin Academy seems pretty strong, that Sekito guy was awesome. That dive under the legs was epic.
The guy at the end has this fantasy-styled eye color, Not something you would expect from a modern sports anime character.

I was hoping in this episode they would have showed the beautiful tradition of the third half, during which the hosting team offers lots to drink and eat to the other team. They socialise, they have fun together.

Nevertheless, I loved this episode: it shows the flexible approach the coach has in terms of training, this time conditioning training in particular. I also approve of this method, as gym machine and other crap you find in gym is not very healthy. Using body weight and other more natural strategies is much healthier for building a strong body (and not just big muscles as machines do).

Being more or less and hikikomori, I will probably never understand the kind of bonding is shown between Oharano and Gion, but it's still amusing to watch it, especially hearing Gion declare he wants to be a flanker, without even knowing what a flanker does. I wanted to be a flanker too when I played rugby for the first time, but it turns out I was better suited as a lock and I enjoy this latter position even more.

I look forward to the next episode!

Really impressive how everyone thinks working out on the beach is the same as working out somewhere else. Clearly they would regret it once they started the practice.

Sekizan digging the holes... I'm laughing. It's a good thing that the coach wants to make them have a practice that will make them gain more resistance, that way the games will me easier for them, they won't be as tired and they were the last episodes. But I don't know about you, but sand here usually hurts so I wouldn't like to play sumo on the beach... or anywhere.

Ooharano and Gion bonding over the brothers, so adorable. I feel bad for Ooharano and his brother but hopefully things will be better and he can understand that it's normal for a brother to feel that way.

SEKITO OMG YES he is so amazing

Nice episode. Well-paced and funny. Ooharano with other expressions on his face than his usual sarcastic ones gave me a "Wow" feeling. I hope he will start to love rugby.

Gion can make anyone warm up to him! I really liked the Gion/Oharano dynamic.

That Sekito is amazing, I hope Gion becomes like this!

Can't hurt more than a solid ground that they smack each other into. Rugby is far more rough than sumo.

Ooharano opening up..
Brother issues everywhere.

After a tough game, the dirty trick team comes to respect sekizan and the team.
The beach training was awesome, might try it out myself :)

I am no good at watching anime like this, one episode per week. It is so frustrating! I might wait a few weeks until I have a bunch of episodes that I can watch all together. I really like All Out!! but would prefer to binge on it over a weekend.

Even on beach training is still tough as hell!
Carrying the whole weight of another player and digging holes are quite a different approach of hellish training since they don't have any weights.
And Even Sumo wresting at the beach! this coach is very versatile on different kinds of training...such variety!
So Gion wants to be a flanker! and they went to Ryoin (the strongest Ruby Team in Kanagawa) to spy! That sure is a very powerful team just by watching them!
Looks like we got the captain of Ryoin! very scary 1st impression! and huge!
5/5.

This episode taught me a lot, is not bad either as an excuse to show the classic "appointment" with the sea, an "event" that never fails in any anime series. Certain that Gion, must always do the part of a fool, for script reasons, given the excuse that they invent to describe a little better the figure of Ooharano. Pleasant vision of this episode, a bit of sympathy and humor, is good, but if it has a purpose. Comic face Kamo, when empathizes the Shingo coach.

nice episode. just one thing though, typically the #6 (blindside flanker) is bigger than the #7 (openside flanker).
