| Only valid criticism that I can see are the animation and there's only minor nitpicks with the story. Other than that, I don't buy why this has such a low score. I mean underneath it all... you have some of the best exploration of themes in anime. One is in regards with Maihime and how to deal with personal grief in the middle of a war as a leader. |

| The show really is not bad. It's just the early episodes are so generic and the main character is a "Hero". |
