In case anyone wants to know...I'm getting heavy wayward pines/primeval vibes here.

They are in the future, they were saved for some reason, maybe the virus was mutating and those are humans that mutated by the virus too far. They were locked in stasis for 50+ years.

could be off, bug I guessed Qualidae code on the second episode hehe :>

It could just be this is some island they are left on, but why a buyilding that looks 50 years dead, but was built 2 years after they were in jail?

The OP might not be that far off, the chinese manhua is also called "Space-Time Prisoner" in english ^^
