I loved the scene where Saya gets her new sword. It’s been a while since a scene has been accompanied by such a rousing song. And Saya’s new sword looks really cool, though the reflection from the crystal may be a bit extreme. It’s also interesting that the sword has a connection to George through the crystal; it probably means that this is the weapon Saya will carry through to the end of the series.

I had a feeling something would happen with the professor regarding fame when everyone was saying what they sacrificed and he was saying he sacrificed glory or something like that from research... I'm really hoping he isn't a traitor, but we'll see... I also noticed the Goldsmith & Goldschmidt connection a while ago--perhaps Solomon was changed by Diva out of revenge towards the Joel lineage?

So glad Riku's awake, can't wait to see what he does :) I also love Saya's sword, the George connection and the red which seems to be the color that represents her now, really make it awesome. Hopefully it doesn't break so easily :p

The mafia girl and reporter guy's relationship is funny :) Does that mean that Saya and Haji literally walked to France on foot, considering according to the reporter they visited the Zoo and they're in France right now... Maybe she'll finally be able to find Kai xD

Awake is better than dead--though what sort of life he has now is up for question. Is he a chevalier? And does that mean that he is expected to marry Diva (since the chevaliers of one sister are the mates of the other)?

I felt from the very beginning that the Collins guy was not exactly fully dedicated to Red Shield's goal; he seems to regret the fact that he gave up fame to work with them. I hope he doesn't turn out a traitor.

Saya's new sword is amazing though, and the fact that it has a crystal embedded which came from her father makes it all the more special. I'm guessing this will be her sword till the end of the series. When she first unsheathed it, I was like "OMG it's laser!", only to realize that it was the crystal's reflection.

For some reason, I really can't see Riku as a Chevalier. Kai would have been better suited for the role. Oh well, I guess you can't have everything your way.

Well I sure hope Saya is really honest about fighting. I'm tired of her being useless.

The plot raises, narrative while slowing of pace, is full of pathos beyond belief! The post of this series never seems to end, what a atomic pile? XD
Drawings not bad, the new sword Saya is cute, but I preferred the old sword with that form bold! However, what makes the new crystal sword really tough! * _ *
Julia-san back to smoking, it is a bad thing! LOL
I am anxious to see what will happen now to Riku, especially since he already before saving Saya with his blood! * _ *
And to figure out what's going to happen with Collins and with the return of Siff! : D

I like Saya's outfit.
Julia, U Y so sexy?
Mao is so troublesome. I think, if she caught him, Kai would be better off shooting himself with his father's pistol :D
I was wondering why Solomon has the same surname as Joel.
The notion of Nobel prize for this research seems laughable to me. Wasn't the existence of Diva's blood THE problem for humanity? Of all people Collins should be in the know of the effects. They've had chiroptera samples too. And chevalier live only to serve Diva, you can't make some wondrous elixir from her blood to use as they like. So what's there to award? Solomon's people also can only create monster chiroptera.

I loved Saya's resolve to defeat Diva with no hesitation this time around. As for Riku, I kinda am glad he woke up, the kid didn't deserve to die anyways since he was just caught in the fray.

Riku is waking up only to find out he is "monster" now.

I'm confused as to the structure of Saya's arc. First she's nostalgic about her family life, then her father gets killed because she was a coward, then she says she wants to fight to protect her family and go back home, then she thinks Red Shield betrayed her and goes to the zoo, then she finds out Diva killed her original family so she resolves to defeat Diva.

I think the series has to choose one of two things: either have her father die to give her motivation, or have her realize what Diva did to give her motivation. Having both is redundant in the way it's done:

If she already had a strong resolve to kill the chiropterans, then adding the motivation of revenge against Diva doesn't accomplish much because in both cases she's trying to stop the enemy from killing more people. There was no reason to hide the truth from her only to reveal it later in dramatic fashion. Her internal conflict about joining the chiropterans would have also been useless because she can't be stupid enough to join the side that's killing people, especially not after she sees the enemy preying on her little brother. Whether or not she herself is chiropteran doesn't matter much because she's clearly not murderous like they are. Like, it makes no sense to be like, "oh you're Japanese? and I'm also Japanese? I guess I should join you then even though you're clearly evil." So in this case, it would have made no difference if they had just brought her to the zoo themselves and let her know in a straightforward way what happened. Also, I hate how writers make characters angst just because they're not "normal" humans. Like, who wouldn't celebrate if they have infinite healing abilities, superhuman attributes, and immortality? And for all intents and purposes, you can function as a normal girl in society since you've already done so for a year, and there's no reason your family members would automatically abandon you just because they find out you're a superhuman. The other thing this whole arc accomplished was perhaps strengthening Saya's trust in Red Shield, which again, feels unnecessary because they should've just told her who they were from the beginning. After all, this part of her past wasn't that traumatic after all--- it's not like Saya broke down in tears over Joel's death. There was simply no good reason not to tell her this part. Either way, if the murderers you're facing tell you that your organization is hiding something from you, wouldn't you just confront the organization first instead of running off on your own?

If her resolve needed to be strengthened by the revenge motivation, then why kill her dad to begin with? She could've just gone along with red shield because she wanted to get it over with, and it didn't make a difference. All in all, they basically killed her father figure twice.

Basically, they could've made the show a lot better if they had just gotten to this backstory sooner because it would have introduced the main antagonist sooner as the central threat and given Saya a more compelling motivation to begin with, instead of waiting until the halfway point. Her encounters in Vietnam could have been shortened, all the sideplots could have been cut out, the trip back home was useless, and the flashback in Russia didn't need to happen.

Also, this should be obvious, but Solomon's attraction towards Saya is infatuation at most because he literally had one dance with her.
