| So far the pseudo father-son relationship between Billy and Jim was what I expected with Silver. Of course since we haven't met Silver himself yet (besides the doctors obvious account of him) that's not to say there won't be a similar dynamic between them. Like some other commenters said before, I'm starting to really like Billy and am worried about what comes next. Given his comparative little fame compared with Silver, they're probably going to kill him soon. The portrayal of his alcoholism and fears really adds to his humanity. He's a somewhat pathetic man but not entirely uncaring. Such is the bittersweetness I had anticipated from treasure island. |
